Sept 30 2008

Before the crack of Dawn, Moon in Libra passed exact conjunct Mercury and sextile Juno, and by dawn is exact trine Neptune. By noon, while still in the orb of trine Neptune, we should be feeling the additional effect of Moon conjunct Mars (exact around 4pm PST) and sextile Pluto (exact around 6pm PST). Sweet dreams tonight, as Moon is in the orb of conjunct Venus. Back to the morning, could be good communication of feelings upon awakening, with a dreamy quality and almost psychic empathy. Be aware that any fleeting annoyance is best channeled into action, like something mundane as cleaning up around the house. A good afternoon for deep, metaphysical, existential discussions in between bouts of organization. Moon is Void of Course from a bit before 7pm PST till 9:30 pm PST further suggesting a time to reflect on things.

The Birthcard of today is the Artistic and potentially restless Seven of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Mercury core. The mythology of Eros would be an appropriate study of Art and Beauty.

Sept 29 2008 Grandiose and Trivial Moon

The Sun is in the orb of square Jupiter through mid October , exact on Oct 6th. Extravagance, possibly trying to do more than one can handle. The new Moon last night is emphasizing that square throughout today, exact around 2pm PST. Think big, the upside is generosity, the downside is arrogance. But, in general, lofty optimism. Don't sweat the small stuff is a Jupiter square phrase. But, just for fun, after sunset, there may be a flip to worrying about small things, trivia, emotions getting the better of reason, as Moon enters the orb of a conjunction with Mercury (exact a 2am tomorrow). Not a good time for major decisions, but a good time to express feelings.

Life imitates Art, History writes itself: You think the CERN Large Hadron Collider is huge and expensive? We could build 100, that's one hundred, of them for the initial cost of the "bailout."

The Birthcard of today is the Eight of Hearts, power in emotions, a Neptune implementation of a Jupiter core. Eight of Hearts is the Jupiter card in the life spread of the USA's Birthcard, the Jack of Diamonds. The mythologies of Obatala and Herne may be sufficiently grandiose today.

Sept 28, 2008 New Moon

Moon is still in Virgo this morning and about the time it goes void of course it will be going out of exact square Pluto (in Sagittarius) around 10:30 am PST. The Moon/Pluto transit is associated with plunging deep into intense and powerful feelings. Feelings may surface that are too uncomfortable to face that you may want to submerge, or you may be compelled to uncover the sources of disturbing emotions for resolve. These feelings and emotions can be within yourself or between you and another. Pluto is also squaring Uranus and sextile Mercury, Mars, and Neptune. The sextile aspects may soften the Moon/Pluto impact. Moon Void of Course lasts until 1:05 pm PST.

Moon will head towards Sun in Libra for the New Moon around Midnight. Other active transits during the day - Retrograde Mercury (21 degrees Libra) is conjunct Mars (26 degrees) - Mars adding that extra assertiveness to communication. Mercury is also exact trine Neptune - sensitivities towards tuning into others, or tendencies towards daydreaming. Venus sextile Jupiter - wanting to spend time with friends. The trine and sextile aspects are good for balancing out challenging transits. Good for giving and receiving support if that is what you choose. Libra brings in the aspects of choice and balance.

The Birthcard of today is the Nine of Hearts, a double Saturn. A visit to the mythology of Ch'eng-Huang may add flavor today.

Sept 27 2008 Grand trine Moon

Moon in Virgo was sneaking up to a conjunct with Saturn throughout the night, exact by 8 something this morning PST. Simultaneously, there is a trine with Jupiter in Capricorn and Vesta in Taurus. As moon moves past exact, we will start feeling the orb of Moon opposite Uranus and square Juno around noon, to be exact by 7 in the evening PST. Early in the day from the trine, there is likely a sense of stick-to-it-ness, almost an instinctual knowing of what to do and how to do it. If you feel like withdrawing, it would be good to think, strategize, plan long term.
The grand trine will remain for a few weeks as such, and gets another Moon emphasis on Oct 6th.
Also longer term, Saturn is moving into the orb of opposite Uranus, so there may well be a bit upsetting the apple cart, change, breaking up of old structures. By noon, there may be a feeling of upset, needing freedom, feeling alone in the quest. Be aware of impulsive emotional actions and reactions. If you try something different proactively, you will give this Archetype a place more consciously, and be less apt to be rudely surprised by consequences.

The Birthcard for today is the Ten of Hearts, a Jupiter implementation of a Mars core. Have a look at the mythology of Zeus for today.

Sept 26 2008

Moon in Virgo is in the orb of trine Pluto till around 4pm PST, and is sextile Venus most of the day. After dusk she will be approaching the orb of conjunct Saturn and trine Jupiter. So the flavor of the day may include deep, intense feelings that just won't go away (almost fixated, till the transit shifts) balanced with the desire to be with friends and associates. Later in the evening there may be a bit of wanting to be alone, a good time to think and plan, focus long term.

The Birthcard of the day is the Jack of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Jupiter core, one of the three fixed cards. The mythology of Krishna may provide insight into the nature of this one.

Sept 25 2008 Moon chatter

At dawn, Moon in Leo is opposite Chiron and trine Juno; later in the morning we will feel Moon opposite Neptune (exact around 3pm PST) and sextile Mercury (exact around 4pm PST), sweeping across sextile with Mars. Back to this morning---nuturing partnerships by Juno followed with discouraging, confusing sensitivity by Neptune contrasting verbosity by Mercury. It might be a good time to write, journal feelings, as there will likely be an urge to socialize, but a fuzziness of perceptions. Particularly today, do not self medicate. The go juice will kick in courtesy Mars later in the day, a clearer time to express those feelings. Then, through the night Moon will be sextile Venus, rich and rewarding sweet dreams of love and companionship.

The Birthcard of today is the one and only Queen of Hearts, yow, a double Neptune. The mythology of Tiamat (Babylonian) says a lot today.

Sept 24 2008 Retro

This morning Moon in Leo is pulling away from square Venus and sextile Sun, leaving the orb by 4 pm PST. With a big "however" these transits are generally easy, good feeling, leaving breathing room, allowing perspective. Around 8pm PST, Moon moves into the orb of opposite Chiron, exact by early tomorrow morning. One might experience a bit of touchiness to criticism, or the converse of being overly protective or protected (smothered). Might be interesting dream themes. As to the slower transits, Sun is still square Pluto, Saturn is approaching an opposite of Uranus; while on the lighter side Neptune is trine the now spread trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars and Pluto is sextile to both Neptune and the trio. A time for letting go of antiquated patterns and systems. Dreams and ideals, implementation of new ideas, fated partnerships/relationships all may be in the cards, except...

The big however is Mercury Retrograde, infamous and insidious and worth repeating here: If communication is missed, misunderstood or combative, desires are thwarted or blocked, you feel stuck or bottled, interpretations are taken in the worst possible way, that's retrograde---the shadow or trickster side of Hermes. It could be opposite day, but it might not be. If you ask if it is opposite day during opposite day, what answer do you get? See the Mercury Retrograde link on the left under connections. The official retrograde is September 24th through October 15th, however there is more to it. Think of overlapping waves, and think of a slowly swinging pendulum. At the upper end of each swing it slows down before reversing direction. Likewise, the relative motion between Earth and Mercury passes through phases of forward, stiction, reverse, stiction, repeat. The stiction phases overlapping with the "actual" retrograde are in some ways less fun and more troubling than the "pure" retrograde. So, September 19th through 29th are stiction days, followed by pure retro Sept 30th through October 10th (days without the stiction), followed by exit stiction October 11th through October 18th. Relationships are prone to questioning and upsets during the stiction phase, those with a deep or solid connection will survive. An Archetypal explanation as to why bouncebacks usually don't last is that they start during retrograde right after a stiction induced breakup. There will likely be a collective sigh of relief October 15th or 16th.

The Birthcard of the day is the powerful King of Hearts, a Mars expression of a Mercury core. It is the Birthcard of Joe Biden. The mythologies of Marduk (Babylonian) and Brigid (Celtic) may add light to this one.

Sept 23, 2008 Salesmoon

Hopefully you had an easier day connecting with others yesterday as a respite because today will be a stretch in communication especially heading into the noon hour. Mars is conjunct an almost retrograde Mercury - in the best possible scenario there can be greater acuity with action, meaning you may feel very sharp mentally - on the not so positive side, the mental acuity can be used in an aggressive way by yourself or towards you. Mercury/Mars can also be the pressuring sales person. Moon will square this conjunct (exact before 2 pm PST) adding irritation and frustration. If aware the energy can be redirected. In the morning hours Moon will also be trine Uranus, so there may be surprises, thoughts about changing situations, systems. Try something different, but keep expectations of follow-through thoroughly in check, as Moon will be Void of Course from 2 pm till 2 am PST tomorrow. In the afternoon, Moon will start towards a square with Venus (exact at midnite), adding a flavor of sentimental indulgence, but with no Mojo.

Worth repeating: Moon VOC is a time when you will not feel the collective Astral forms as clearly. As the Moon sweeps around every 28 or so days, she emphasizes the feelings of the slower moving transits. When the shadowy Moon is between Constellations without exact transits we have VOC. We are habituated to having what we perceive as outside from us shape our world and even existence, so the more our own inner light is turned on, the less we will feel a lack of Mojo during Moon VOC. It is a wonderful opportunity to feel and sense whom we are with less external input. One reason Astrology and other deterministic Archetypal Languages work is because the critical mass of humanity is still unconscious, following the dynamics of the Cosmos much as collections of unconscious (relatively speaking) particles follow the laws of mechanics or Physics, PV equals nRT. We get to wake up. Imagine a world with a critical mass of awakened humanity!

The Birthcard of the day is Ace of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Venus core. The Hindu mythology of Sarasvati would be relevant as mental stimulation today.

Sept 22, 2008

Today is potentially an easier day as far as the Moon goes. Moon is in Cancer and will be moving into exact opposition Jupiter in Capricorn this evening while sextiling Saturn in Virgo. Moon/Jupiter - is basically a feeling of wanting to give to others. Generosity will be easily accessible, however this is best done on your terms rather than from feeling obligated. Take care to offer that which can be followed through. Jupiter can be expansive and magnanimous. Moon sextile Saturn will bring in a balanced aspect to the Moon/Jupiter opposition. You have the opportunity to assess what you do want to do or not do. Moon/Saturn is reflective, can be experienced as the need to withdraw and take account of yourself and situations.

The day's Moon activity is less likely to add to the conflicts of the red (stiction) days of Mercury Retrograde.

Check in with the current positions of the slower planets with your natal chart. If you have been feeling something for quite awhile and can't seem to get through it, look at what the planets are aspecting. Saturn is 14 degrees Virgo, Uranus is 20 degrees Pisces. Neptune is 21 degrees Aquarius, and Pluto is 28 degrees Sagittarius. Uranus and Neptune are retrograde. The squares, oppositions and conjuncts are the most challenging - sextiles and trines seem to be experienced as less pressure, more supportive. Email us if you want your chart plus the world transits at: wtaf42@yahoo.com

Today is a Two of Clubs day in the realm of the Birthcards, a Uranus implementation of a Saturn core. The mythology of Arawn (Celtic) may be something you could relate to today.

Sept 21 2008

Remember that we are in the red days for Mercury Retrograde. (See link on the left). The official retrograde starts on September 24th but it can be felt now. Mercury is in Libra so this may add attempts at wanting balance, compromises, etc. but the retrograde aspect can make it difficult to hear the other side or to present your own. Intimate relationships are of course subject to these perturbations. Since retrograde will be around until Mid October give extra breathing for yourself and others for misinterpretations and misunderstandings.

There are mixed moods today. The more challenging first. The Moon will be square with Uranus this morning around 6:30 am PST. Uranus has to do with change, rebellion, revolution, awakenings - sometimes these come as a surprise, an upset, the unexpected. With the Moon/Uranus transit you may be quick to react in a way that is oppositional or see the other as upsetting. The square aspect is more abrupt and harder to work with. Give it a few hours. In the evening there will be another challenge, however if you are aware it can be very helpful! Moon will be opposition Pluto - exact at 8:20 pm. Moon/Pluto can be intense, conflictual times with others - a pull into deeper, underlying emotions - difficulty seeing things as they really are. If possible it may be more productive to observe the feelings of this transit rather than plunge into its darker or destructive aspects. If there are things that truly need to be addressed they will be there after this transit - it will be much easier to deal with things when your head and emotions are more clear.

In the morning after Moon transits Uranus around 6-ish, the softer and more pleasant side of the Moon transits will kick in at 9 am. Moon will be trine Neptune and trine Mars. Moon/Mars - this transit of Mars brings in clear action especially in relationship to others. Moon/Neptune is a good time for engaging the imaginal realm, even if only for a few hours. An hour later, around 10am Moon will trine Mercury, which is great for listening and for having clarity regarding your own feelings. In the evening, Moon will be trine Venus - feelings of closeness, wanting to be with others. This is exact around 6:30 pm.

The trines will weave in and out of the harder aspects from morning until the Moon/Pluto this evening. Each aspect lasts a few hours so if you are having a hard time, wait and things will shift. The trines are your friends!

[guest] Another way to look at the patterns is the Mercury/Venus/Mars trio, which is spreading out, but on it's last days as a conjunct, is an entity unto itself, and that is part of a grand trine with the Moon and Neptune for the beginning of the day. Moon is also opposing Juno while square Uranus early in the day. Watch for dreamy, restless idealism; channel that into something non-personal, as it is a global flavor.

The Birthcard today is the Three of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Mars core. See the mythology of Tyr (Norse).

Sept 20 2008 Hey there, lonely Moon

[guest blogger] Our friend the Moon moves into the orb of square Saturn in the morning, moving to exact square a bit after 8pm PST, at which time the Moon moves into the orb of trine the Mediterranean trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars. Also, nudging trine with Neptune and square Uranus at that time in the evening. Likely flavors for the day would be depression, negativity, cut off from emotional communication and understanding---feeling lonely, maybe a bit smothered from external attempts to lift the spirits. If you are feeling any of these, don't panic. It will pass.

Funny thing about talking things out versus remaining stuck in some negative feeling/pattern/habit. The talkers believe they are correct, in that low and behold, one gradually feels better after talking/processing/sharing; the stickers are equally correct in believing in the fate of being stuck (especially relevant under a Saturn transit). The cosmic joke is that both are affirmed correct from their respective positions as the transits shift and move onto the next flavor. Sometimes the best thing to do is in the realm of the sensate: take a walk, be with nature, touch, smell the flowers, listen to music.

In the evening as the heavies pass, the tendency may be more towards yearning, dreamy, artsy, something different. Be cautious of brash reactions to the lifting of the heavy feeling which may have long lasting unintended consequences. A simple kiss can lead to triplets. As the trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars drift apart, this and tomorrow's Moon trine will the be the last of that Mediterranean combo, and we will start to feel more of the individual facets of each of them.

Todays Birthcard is the Four of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core, the foundation in knowledge. For fun, have a look at the mythology of Shango.

Sept 19 2008 Retro

There are a few hard transits that have been on the periphery and are moving more into the feel zone. Sun (27 degrees Virgo) is square Pluto (28 degrees Sagittarius) and moving out of opposition Uranus (20 degrees Pisces). Sun/Pluto can feel like wanting to hide certain aspects of the self from others, possibly being hard on yourself, power relationships coming up in confrontation. Pluto is depth, power, breaking things down in deep transformation. It is a good time to tend to the areas that are exposed (even if only to yourself) rather than let the awareness pass by. Moon will be trine to the Sun and bring a sense of balance between your feeling and logical self to the mix. That should help with this transit. Saturn (13 degrees Virgo) is coming into opposition with Uranus (20 degrees Pisces). This transit will last into the election in November. There two planets are in some ways at odds - Saturn represents structure and Uranus radical change. Be aware of the tension of old patterns and ways that are outmoded and impending change that challenge the way things have been. Check your natal chart to see how this transit may be affecting you, your friends, or parents. Some older generations will be hit with world Saturn opposite their natal Saturn and world Uranus conjunct natal Saturn.

Lighter side of things - Uranus is sextile Jupiter and sextile Moon. Good time for innovative change, expansion, moving, feeling of excitement of something new. Saturn is trine Jupiter - good time for thinking clearly about your financial situations.

While you were sleeping last night, the Moon was entering the orb of a square with Neptune, becoming exact around 6am PST. How were your dreams? This transit indicates sensitivity, permiability, but not always with a clear communication channel, so dreams are a good way for it to express. There may be a bit of irritation with this one, as we enter the stiction days of Mercury Retrograde, so again, dreams are a good place for it. Do avoid self-medication. Moon will be void of course going from Taurus into Gemini this afternoon around 4 until 8:30 pm PST. The day will end with Moon trine Sun in Virgo.

Today's Birthcard is Five of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Saturn core. A retro look at the mythology of Ptah would be a good way to start retro. See yesterday's post. The bright orange/red part.

Sept 18, 2008 Grand Trine

Moon is in Taurus today and heading for a grand trine with Saturn and Jupiter around 4 to 5 this evening. Saturn in Virgo, Jupiter in Capricorn, and Moon in Taurus are in the earth signs. The qualities of these planets and constellations have to do with material matters - your work in the world. Jupiter brings in achievements, accomplishment - movement towards excelling. Jupiter is also associated to travel so this may be an aspect of what you do. Jupiter/Saturn trine can be experienced as awareness of the responsibility of your contribution in the world. It is very practical. Moon in Taurus can be felt as wanting familiarity. In trine with Saturn and Jupiter you may feel the need to stay with the tried and true and with what makes sense to you in your understanding of your work. Moon will be moving into sextile Uranus in the early morning tomorrow. That transit can be experienced as the need for change (in contrast with staying with the tried and true). Saturn and Jupiter will be trine the rest of the week.
Venus, Mercury, Mars conjunct in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius is anything but practical! This transit takes love, beauty, the arts into daydreaming and imagination with group consciousness in mind. It will be easy to slip into a sharing of ideals, dreams, and universality.
It should be an interesting day!

[guest] Moon is conjunct Vesta today. That, with the Moon/Jupiter/Saturn grand trine would indicate general sense of well-being with an instinctual, practical flavor. A hint of electric excitement, pleasant restlessness being added later in the day as Moon enters the orb of a sextile with Uranus, the Promethean one.

However, adding to the interesting mix day, we are entering the stiction phase of Mercury Retrograde. In a perfect, frustrating example of the crossed wires aspect of that, this paragraph had vanished after publishing it, what you are reading is a repeat. If communication is missed, misunderstood or combative, desires are thwarted or blocked, you feel stuck or bottled, interpretations are taken in the worst possible way, that's retrograde---the shadow or trickster side of Hermes. It could be opposite day, but it might not be. If you ask if it is opposite day during opposite day, what answer do you get? See the link on the left under connections. So, September 19th through 29th are stiction days, followed by pure retro Sept 30th through October 10th, followed by exit stiction October 11th through October 18th.

The Card of the day is Six of Clubs, a Saturn expression of a Neptune core. That combo is a bit of a paradox, the psychic and the policeman, in a healthy expression we could see the practical idealist. Have a look at the mythology of Odin (Norse).

Sept 17 2008 Deep Communion

[guest blogger today] As the Moon eases away from an opposition to the Mercury/Venus/Mars trio in the morning, a sextile with Neptune will be the next emphasis, followed shortly by the addition of a trine with Pluto. She, the Moon, goes Void of Course from around 3:30 pm till 6 pm PST, emerging "in" Taurus. All in all a propensity to sensitive, intense feelings and understandings. Communion with an intimate partner (not in the traditional religious sense!) may have a more serious, as in deep, meaningful, even metaphysical tone as contrasted with the more hedonistic "Mediterranean" flavor of yesterday. A bit more of an existential "wow" today, asking what's it all about? If it has a touch of sadness at the fleeting nature of it all, remember it is cyclical in a spiral rather than circular, repetitive manner---the opportunity will be there to repeat at the next level or octave, as you do take it with you. Cherish it along the way.

The Card of the day is Seven of Clubs, the melancholy genius, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core. The mythology of Prometheus the awakener is a good study today. Rumor has it that the Planet Uranus was almost named Prometheus, and there are schools of thought that it would have been a more fitting name.

Sept 16 2008 Jovial Moon

[guest blogger today---the presentation does not represent the host blogger] The one and only Moon in Aries is square Jupiter all day, exact around noon PST. In the afternoon, she enters the orb of opposite to the Mercury/Venus/Mars trio, becoming exact in the middle of the night, and it is a good night for some Mediterranean fun. During the day, it is likely the mood will be generous, benevolent, jovial, philosophical today---a good time for a Shakespeare comedy. Just be aware of greed and gluttony, stay with adequate and sufficient and all will be well. Strive to be flexible and adaptable.

Today's Birthcard is Eight of Clubs, power in knowledge. A Mars expression of a Neptune core. It is one of the three fixed cards, meaning in a way that it stays put while the rest of the world permutates around them. Honk if you like your therapist, the mythology of Psyche is relevant today. Although we don't now Shakespeare's exact birthday and therefore Birthcard, we do know he was Baptised (all the rage back in those days) on an Eight of Clubs day. Eight of Clubs is the Birthcard of the very creative and talented musician Thomas Dolby.

Sept 15 2008 Harvest Moon

If you were up in the middle of the night to enjoy the reflected light of the Harvest Full Moon, you've felt what countless generations of us have felt, each adding to and leaving a bit more intensity for the next to feel. There will be Moon void of course from about noon till 2:30 PST. As Moon appears from our perspective to go from Pisces to Aries, and pulls away from conjuncting Uranus, the square with Pluto (exact around noon) will become apparent, a shift from impulsive to compulsive. Could be intense today. Be aware of the probability of emotional power struggles, take any hint of them as opportunities to go within and get in touch with what is really important to you.

Today is a Nine of Clubs Card day, a Venus expression of a Saturn core. When you are not cavorting about in celebration of the Harvest Moon, have a look at the mythology of Freyja (Norse).

Sept 14 2008 Surprise Moon

Moon in Pisces is conjunct Saturn and sextile Jupiter in the morning, and heading to conjunct Uranus, exact in the evening. Continued sociability in response to any melancholy is the prognosis for the morning. By the afternoon, and certainly in the evening be aware of impulsiveness. Don't do anything rash that might have long term negative consequences. Intentionally doing something different or out of a normal routine is a good way to engage with the flavor of the evening, so that the Archetypes don't have to surprise you out of the ordinary. Full Moon will be in the middle of the night, just to add to the flavor of the unusual.

The Card of the day is Ten of Clubs, a Solar expression of a Mars core, sometimes known of as the Teacher. The mythologies of Amon-Ra and possibly Shiva may be educational today.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Sept 13 2008 Social Moon

After a brief Void of Course from approx 6am till 9am PST, Moon in Pisces pulls away from conjunct Neptune, and is sextile Pluto during the day. Moon is approaching, is within the orb of an opposition to Saturn along with a sextile of Jupiter in the evening, to be exact tomorrow morning.

Possible deep feelings today, less patience for superficialities; mystery and the hidden may fascinate. Have a look at the links on the left under connections. In the evening there may be a feeling of isolation, loneliness, melancholy. There may also be an urge to be jovial, to connect in with friends and socialize. Don't panic, don't self medicate, the melancholy will pass by tomorrow afternoon, and is best countered by comradare.

It should be noted that this refers to the global weather. Your own natal chart will have other flavors emphasized by the Moon and other heavenly bodies transiting it. If you know key facets of your birthchart, you can overlay the world chart described here with it, and get an idea. There are many layers of depth of which we are touching the surface (hopefully not too superficially---especially today), focused on the global flavors. Part of the fun is learning to discern between local and global, and stretching one's perceptions in the process.

Today's Card is Jack of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Venus core. The mythology of Eris may ring a bell for those interested in what is backstage.

Sept 12 2008 Empathy Moon

This morning Moon in Aquarius is conjunct Chiron and sextile Juno, while continuing the trine of the tight trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars. By afternoon, a conjunction with Neptune will begin being felt, exact by dusk. Moon/Chiron, Juno: call Mom. Moon/trio: see below---still a good time for pleasure. Moon/Neptune: super sensitive, intuitive without always getting resolution of what is being felt--- empathy, fantasy, harder communication. When words don't quite do, try the sensate---touch, massage, Art, music, dancing.

The Card of the day is Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core, highly intuitive with a propensity for emotional turmoil. It is the Birthcard of French President Nicholas Sarkozy. Lookup the mythologies of Horus and from Ireland, The Morrigan for insights.

Sept 11 2008

Sun will continue to be opposite Uranus for the next week. See previous entry on that. By mid-afternoon the Moon will be trine the Mercury/Venus/Mars triple "Mediterranean" conjunction, which is tight now, with Mars/Venus being exact. Mars/Venus has something to do with everyone's favorite subject, desired and taboo'd: sex, and it's expression. Venus/Mercury is, in a word: Art. Mars/Mercury would be passionate expression. An example of the Archetypal expression of the trio would be Vicky Christina Barcelona. See previous enrty on that also. With the Moon trine, one would expect feeling of ease with regard to the passion, Art, and whatever comes naturally if we let it.

There may be a bit of a damper on the above festivities from the seven year "anniversary" of a tragic event when the laws of physics were suspended for a day. As the time now since then is a quarter cycle of Saturn, we would expect to be revisiting with a similar flavor whatever Saturn was transiting or aspecting at that time. It is an appropriate time to review, albiet in a somewhat heavy way what we did not learn seven years ago. The suggestion here is pay attention to the obvious, don't let voices of authority talk, cajole, or manipulate you out of your own senses, sensibilities, sensations, and perceptions. The study and implementation of the "coherent narrative", as espoused by Daniel J. Segal, author of The Developing Mind would be a very good thing along those lines.

The King of Clubs is the Card of the day, a double Uranus. The mythology of Anansi might provide insight into this trickster.

Sept 10 2008 Slacker Moon

Sun opposite Uranus will start getting distinct attention. For the next week, be ready for surprises. Things bottled, denied, or restricted will have a habit of making appearances in one form or another. Moon will be trine Sun and sextile Uranus through the afternoon. Maybe a touch of pleasant restlessness, new ideas, more contentment than tension.

Moon will be Void of Course from about 6am till midnite PST. This would be a good day to wrap up things, continue what has already been started, be spontaneous, relax, follow your inner slacker. It is not a good time to engage with the collective, unless one counts on doing it over or repeating. The Department of Redundancy Department.

Moon VOC is a time when you will not feel the collective Astral forms as clearly. As the Moon sweeps around every 28 or so days, she emphasizes the slower moving transits; as she is reflected light rather than inner light, it is probably not accurate to refer to that as "lights up" the others, so emphasize is the word of choice.

This is an Ace of Diamonds day, a Jupiter implementation of a Neptune core. Have fun with the mythology of Obatala. From the shadows with a textbook example of projection, it is the birthcard of Bill O'Reilly and also George Soros. The latter is clearly awakening, and Mr. Bill is pointing at his own denied shadow.

Sept 9 2008 Moon of Aaaahs

The Mediterranean trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars is tightening, and is being squared by the Moon which is conjunct Jupiter in Carpicorn. She, the Moon that is, is also trine to the now loosening Sun/Saturn conjunct. Likely to be a day of pleasure, vitality, ease of understanding, passion and Art, connecting, good relations. Enjoy. Carpe the Diem to paraphrase. This post could be wordier, but it is more fun to have fun than to write about it.

The Card of the day is Two of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Saturn core. Not always an easy combination, but is about pairing. See the mythology of Ogoun if you are taking a break from the sensate of the world today.

Sept 8 2008 Deep Moon

The Moon is exact conjunct Pluto in the morning while passing away from the square with Uranus and the sextile with Neptune. See yesterday's descriptions. The Moon is Void of Course from about 10am till 1 pm PST. Expect the dark teatime of the Soul for brunch and lunch, followed by the Mojo returning. A Pluto Moon is Depth Psychology; deep unexpressed or even unrealized feelings may come to the surface. Possible jealousy, obsession, insecurity, manipulative games of emotional power particularly with women, extra fun if you wear comfortable shoes. It will pass, like all transits; the trick is to align with the growth opportunities rather than personalize the weather. Communication is key, so what else is new...? Tomorrow will be really different--- hot, spicy and affectionate with meaningful insights if you stay connected through this one.

The Card of the day is Three of Diamonds, a Mercury expression of a Uranus core, sometimes known as the troubled or tormented Philosopher, driven to find stability in values. See if the mythology of Quetzalcoatl "hits a spot" today.

Sept 7 2008 restless Moon in Sagittarius

In the morning our shadowy friend the Moon, in the slow shift away from a sextile aspect with the Mediterranean trio mentioned below through a square with the Sun/Saturn conjunct, is beginning a square with Uranus. Along with a sextile with Neptune, she also is also conjunct with Juno. Later in the evening, Moon is approaching a conjunct with Pluto, which becomes exact tomorrow morning. Sounds busy? Let's look at the individual flavors, and have a guess at the Moon amalgam. Conjunct Juno: relational, emotionally close. Square Uranus: rebellious, hasty, craving excitement. Sextile Neptune: hypersensitive, empathy, good for occult studies, like reading this blog and following the links. Conjunct Pluto: intense, overwhelming feelings, the therapy transit.

Be aware of a restless feeling, possibly a desire for or an attraction to the bad boy or bad girl type or at least someone or something different in delayed response to any lonely feeling from late yesterday.

The Card of the day is Four of Diamonds, a Neptune implementation of a Venus core. Also known of as the foundation in/of values. A bit of a stable reference for the restless Moon. The mythologies of Baldur (Norse) and The May King, Jack O' the Green are good reading today.

Sept 6 2008 Cuddle and Talk

Moon is sextile the Mediterranean trio of Mercury/Venus/Mars, so, er, um, social intercourse is likely today. Good for connection; and communication and expression of feelings. A warm and fuzzy variation of Art, Sensate, and Passion, with as many social as private overtones. With Sun just past exact conjunction with Saturn, the heaviness is lifting, but not completely passed. Not all fun and games, but talk and share intimately as it is a good day to be heard and felt, in more ways than one. There may be a fleeting touch of feelings of irritation, loneliness, sadness as Moon squares the Sun/Saturn conjunct in the evening. Don't panic, stay connected, this will pass by tomorrow evening.

Today's Card is Five of Diamonds, a Saturn implementation of a Neptune core. The Norse mythology of Odin is possibly meaningful today.

Sept 5 2008 Moon Void of Course, time to chill of course

Moon is square Neptune for most of the day, and Void of Course from around 9am till midnite PST. Daydreams and illusions may be prevalent. Beware of a tendency to self medicate. Not the best time to start something new. Chill today if you can.

The Card of the day is Six of Diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Mercury core. The mythologies of Osein and Lemminkainen may provide entertaining insight today.

Sept 4 2008 under a mixed Moon

Mixed signals today, quite contrasted flavors. Moon in Scorpio is sextile to both Jupiter and the Sun/Saturn conjunction; and exact opposite to Vesta later in the day. These point to grand, congenial, good relations in contrast with desiring to be alone; along with a possibility of emotions running amok causing trouble focusing or a forced focus on the mundane to avoid feelings.

Watch how this plays out, and take the "time" to be extra aware of self reflection. When experiencing an emotional reaction, either from "within" or from the outside, see if you can catch it before you are hooked into it.
Tomorrow will provide a long swath to withdraw and reflect as Moon will be Void of Course from around 9am till midnite PST.

This is a Seven of Diamonds Card day, a double Venus with an shadow of a double Saturn. One of the four "semi fixed" Cards, this one is interleaved with the Nine of Hearts. Seven of Diamonds can be a bit "out there"; this is/was the birthcard of the late, great George Carlin. Have a look at the mythologies of Oshun and Aphrodite for subtle insights into today.

Sept 3 2008 Draw to the Mysterious, or just Housecleaning

[guessed, guest blog--we will return to the normal, less colorful programming eventually] In the morning, Moon is pulling away from the trine with Neptune, and sextiling Pluto through most of the day. Moon in Void of Course from approx 10am till 1 pm PST. Pay attention to how you feel during Moon Void of Course, see previous Sept 1 entry. There may be a propensity for deep feelings, desire for change, a need for substance. Superficiality won't do. That coupled with Sun in exact conjunct with Saturn for today and tomorrow, spells a bit of trouble for the old guard's show today. The Mercury/Venus/Mars trio conjunction is still there, adding a subtle touch of Art, Sensuality, and Passion to offset the heaviness of Sun/Saturn. Conventioneers at corprorate sponsored open bars looking excessively caucasian to the backdrop of a band named "Hookers and Blow" is a perfect example.

Today is an Eight of Diamonds Card day, the Solar expression of Jupiter. Look up the mythology of Vainamoinen (Finnish). In a possible cosmic pun on vain, it is also the birthcard of Paris Hilton.

Sept 2 2008 Imagination Moon

[guest blogger again] Our friend, the shadowy Moon is pulling away from the "Mediterranean" trio of Mercury Venus Mars in Libra by mid-morning to a sextile with Juno. By later in the day, the Moon will be trine Neptune. Tendencies to daydream. Imagination and fantasy will be stimulated. Art, but a different, more dreamy, nebulous kind than the passionate, deep, longing kind yesterday. Sun is still conjunct Saturn and bringing a bit of heaviness (only a bit, as Jupiter in Capricorn is trine to them), but, like the Mercury Venus Mars trio is not being lit up by the sweep of the moon, so go paint with watercolors, or find a spot with nature and daydream. You might like it.

Note that the Saturn/Jupiter dynamic is analogous to the conservative/liberal one, with Saturn representing the constricted, structured, rule based, dogmatic way, and Jupiter representing liberty: open, generous, magnanimous. As they are trine, the Sun (ego) is hard aspecting Saturn with a conjunction, and giving Jupiter a nice easy trine aspect. Look how the egos on the right side of the aisle are getting bent in an almost keystone cops kind of way, and contrast that with the continued momentum on the progressive side of the aisle from a(n) historic acceptance speech in Denver. This transit, Jupiter trine the conjunction of Sun/Saturn will continue through the second week of September, up to a noun, a verb, and nine-eleven.

Today's Card is Nine of Diamonds, either redemption or disappointment in values. A Uranus expression of a Mars core. It is the birthcard of Barack Obama, and ironically also that of Dubya. You guess which one is the redemption and which one is the disappointment . This would be a textbook example of positive and negative expression of an underlying Archetype. Have a look at the mythologies of Susanoo (Japanese) and Anubis (Egyptian).

Sept 1 2008 Under a Mediterranean Moon

[guest blogger] As The Moon moves away from squaring Pluto, and is conjunct the Mercury/Venus/Mars trio cluster in Libra we have the propensity for a Mediterranean kind of experience: Art, Sensuality, and Passion. This will be heightened by Juno in Sagittarius sextile to, and Jupiter in Capricorn square to the above mentioned trio. However (in a complex universe there is usually is some kind of a however somewhere, lurking around the corner), as Sun is still conjunct Saturn and Pluto is still loosely square to the leading edge of the trio; there is likely to be some lingering heaviness and deep soul searching. Think Lisa Gerard of Dead Can Dance meets Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Of course, your individual Natal/Birth Chart will likely have something significant being aspected to add to the flavors. What are the local sensations, and what are the global sensations? Can you discern the distinction between them? Whom is doing the perceiving, and what color, or flavor, or tendency is shaping the perceptions? Are you wearing beer goggles, or polarizing sunglasses, or rose colored glasses? What happens if you take them off? A good time to pay attention is during Moon Void of Course, when there is less direct Archetypal influence on the collective. The next opportunity is Wed the Sept 3rd, roughly 10am to 1pm PST.

Today's Card is Ten of Diamonds, a magnanimous double Jupiter. It is the birthcard of the likely future American First Lady: Michelle Obama. Lookup the mythology of Agni for some ideas.
