Dec 31 2008 Last Chance this Year

Moon starts out in Aquarius, goes Void of Course from 10:34 am PST till 4:27 pm PST, when Moon enters Pisces, her home away from home, to welcome in the New Year. Juno is trine/sextile the continuing Saturn/Uranus opposition. Further rounding out the Year, we have a cluster of Heavenly Bodies in a couple of Constellations, Capricorn and Aquarius, so simplistically, if things feel a little lopsided, they are for now. In the morning Moon is conjunct Venus, exact right before VOC, so a good morning for warm fuzzies and cuddles, especially before Saturn goes retrograde, where it will be till May 2009. Being that Saturn has a reputation for, er, sternness, retro may not feel much heavier, just more Saturnish when transited. On a positive note, it is a good evening for partying, as Moon is sextile Pluto, exact at 6:55 pm PST, and sextile Mars, exact at 11:49 pm PST.

The Birthcard today is the Joker by most accounts. Like the Number Zero, it is an enigma, including to itself. Henri Matisse, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Summers, John Denver, Donna Summer, and Val Kilmer are all New Year's eve babies, and therefore share this Birthcard.

Dec 30 2008

Moon in Aquarius will be conjunct Chiron, exact at 5:19 pm PST, so in addition to this weather report, expect intensified emotions, possibly of a mothering/smothering nature.

Monday, December 29, 2008

Dec 29 2008

Moon passed through a brief Void of Course into Aquarius in the wee hours. See the weather report here. Moon will be conjunct North Node at 9 pm PST, adding a feeling of familiarity, being in place.

The birthcard today is the Two of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Neptune core, paired with the Ace of Clubs. It is one of two pairs of Cards that trade places back and forth within each pair. Also, rare as there is only one day on which this Birthcard occurs. Charles Goodyear, Pablo Casals, Mary Tyler Moore, Ted Danson, Paula Poundstone all share this Birthcard.

Sunday, December 28, 2008

Dec 28 2008

Moon in Capricorn will be sextile Uranus, exact at 6:46 am PST, conjunct Juno at 9 am PST, trine Saturn exact at noon PST, and conjunct Mercury exact at 7:53 pm PST. There is a weather report here. Try something different this morning. The trine with Saturn should add support for such forays, and Juno is likely to add a nurturing facet to the mix. In the evening, there may be a bit of chattering, triviality, where feelings take over reason. Wait till tomorrow to make any major decisionns.

The Birthcard of the day is the Three of Hearts, a double Mercury, with an Ace of Hearts inside and a Queen of Clubs outside. Paraphrasing: the heart has reasons that reason does not understand. Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Abbie Hoffman, and of course Samuel Clemens are incarnational expressions of this Card, or visa versa.

Dec 26 2008 almost New Moon

How were your dreams sleeping off too much food in parts of the world, and too little elsewhere? Moon was sextile Neptune last night, good for dreams, no particular meaning per se, just good for dreams. For Boxing Day, as Mars is almost conjunct Pluto---and is conjunct Mars, exact at 3:25 pm then Moon Void of Course for only half an hour, then into Capricorn. Moon will be conjunct Pluto, exact at 6:07 pm PST. Likely a feisty day.

Today's Birthcard is the Five of Hearts, a Saturn implementation of a Venus core, with a Four of Diamonds inside and a Five of Clubs outside. Jon Stewart, Randy Newman, Grace Slick, Steve Allen, and Kitty Dukakis are incarnational expressions of this Card.

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Dec 25 2008

Moon in Sagittarius will be square Uranus, exact at 5:46 pm PST, sextile Venus, exact at9:22 pm PST, and almost too late for Sarturnalia, square Saturn exact at 11:10 pm PST. A bit of a mix, with upsets/surprises from Uranus, and warm fuzzies from Venus, and finishing of the day with the lessons of Saturn.

The Birthcard of the day is the Six of Hearts, a double Mars, with a a Four of Clubs inside and a Three of Diamonds outside. Various incarnations expressing this Card are Richard Dreyfuss, Henry Winkler, Isaac Newton, Annie Lenox, and a spectacular example of the shadow side of this Archetype: Karl Rove.

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Dec 24 2008

Mars is close to conjunct Pluto, exact by the 26th, see the Dec 17th post. The Moon in Sagittarius will be sextile/trine the north and south node axis, which should somewhat mellow out the rather intense tendencies of the Sun/Mars/Pluto loose conjunction. Continuing through next week, there may be a tendency towards a little too much go-juice, to the point of possible disruption.

The Birthcard of the day is Seven of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Mercury core, with an Eight of Hearts inside and an Ace of Spades outside. Varied incarnations of this card include Randy Newman, Rich Little, Tina Turner, Ava Gardner, and surprisingly to some, Bill Gates.

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Dec 23 2008

Before dawn, Moon in Scorpio was sextile Mercury, square Venus, and trine Uranus. Do you remember your dreams? Moon is sextile Saturn, exact at 10:35 am PST; square Neptune, exact at 11:34 am PST; and in the evening sextile Jupiter, exact at 9:29 pm PST, followed by Moon void of course till 3 in the morning tomorrow. In the morning today, one may feel like being a bit of a loner, eschewing chattering crowds, and prefer a dreamy winterworld kind of experience. As always with hard Moon Neptune transits, avoid self medication. In the evening, things should be more copacetic. See the Dec 17th post for an overview of this week.

The Birthcard of the day is the emotionally powerful Eight of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Jupiter core, with a Seven of Spades inside and a Seven of Hearts outside. Various examples of expression of this card are Robert Bly, Richard Gere, Madeline Kahn, Harry Shearer, and the one and only John Cleese.

Monday, December 22, 2008

Dec 22 2008

Sun passed exact conjunct Pluto last night, and our friend the Shadowy Moon in Scorpio will be square the North/South Node axis around noon. Likely deep, emotional day. Superficialities will be swept under, and communications will tend to be emotional. Neither good nor bad, just more in that domain. If the intellect is stymied, don't even try, just use the feelings, communicate emotionally. The Heart has reasons that reason does not understand.

The Birthcard of today is the Nine of Hearts, a double Saturn with a "veiled" double Venus. Brigitte Bardot, Bootsy Collins, Hillary Clinton, Mira Sorvino, and Seymour Cray are different examples of this incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Dec 21 2008 Winter Solstice

Sun entered Capricorn early this morning, right around Winter Solstice. Plenty of history, lots of imitators...this is one of two stillpoints. In the Northern Hemisphere, if one is sufficiently tuned to the rhythms of nature, one can feel this stillpoint, somewhat like the point between breaths, only on a much longer timescale. Moon will be sextile Mars, exact at 7:21 am PST, then square Jupiter, exact at 8:57 am PST, when she goes Moon Void of Course till 3:36 pm PST. Then, Moon will be sextile Sun, exact at 4:39 pm PST and sextile Pluto, exact at 5:21 pm PST. Good morning for action, with a magnanamous touch. The Moon Void of Course through mid-day makes it a perfect time to reflect on the stillness of the Winter Solstice. Then, a good evening for depth and passion.

Today's Birthcard is the Ten of Hearts, a Jupiter implementation of a Mars core, with a Jack of Clubs inside and a Five of Spades outside. Charlie "Bird" Parker, Jane Fonda, Harpo Marx, J. K. Rowling, and Phil Donahue are various examples of expression of this Card.

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Dec 20 2008

Moon in Libra is square Mercury, exact at 6:22 am PST, then trine Venus exact at 10:02 am PST. Later, around 3 pm PST, Moon will simultaneously be square Juno and trine Chiron. First thing in the morning, there may be a bit of a stressor in reconciling thoughts and emotions, but that will get much better by mid morning. Moon trine Venus would be analogous to the pleasure center of the brain. Enjoy when it happens. Later in the day, the mood may shift to a more serious one around partnerships, family, nurturing.

The Birthcard today is the Jack of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Jupiter core, a source card with the same inside and outside, all JH all the time. Charles De Gaulle, Ahnold the Governator, T.S. Elliot, Uri Geller, and George Gershwin are various expressions of this Card.

Dec 19 2008 Waning Moon 3rd quarter

Moon in Libra will be square Pluto today, exact at 7:52 am PST. Possibility of stuck feelings, OCD tendencies, emotional conflicts around guilt or jealousy. The upside is that one can face what comes up from the deep head-on, and find great insights into what has lurked in the depths. See the Dec 17th posting on longer trends.

The Birthcard today is the Queen of Hearts, a double Neptune with a Ten of Spades inside and a Nine of Clubs outside. Jennifer Beals, Goldie Hawn, Anita Roddick, Edith Piaf and Catherine Zeta-Jones all share this Birthcard.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Dec 18 2008

Moon in Virgo, last quarter waning will start off the day trine Juno. Then, opposite Uranus, exact 10:06 am PST. Then conjunct Saturn, exact at 2:58 pm PST, then square Mars exact at 7:08 pm PST. After Hours, Moon will be trine Jupiter, exact at 11:05 pm PST. Quick and dirty synopsis: the day will start off nice, then have tendencies of not so fun, then end on a good note. More details of the flavors of these transits can be found following the links at the left, or by searching past posts. I'm feeling lazy as I write this. Just today.

Today's Birthcard is the powerful King of Hearts, a Mars expression of a Mercury core, with a Two of Clubs inside, and a Nine of Spades outside. Joe Biden, Steven Spielberg, Robert Byrd, Bobby Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Linda Eastman McCartney all share this Birthcard.

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Dec 17 2008

Overnight, the one and only Moon in Virgo made a grand trine with Pluto and Vesta. Later she will trine Mercury, exact at 3:49 pm PST. After getting off to a deep, intense start, the day is likely one of a balance between emotions and rationale, with better than usual communication of both thoughts and feelings. Sun is approaching conjunct Pluto, so for the next couple weeks, life as a spectator sport will not cut it. Be aware of undercurrents. By Dec 21, as Sun is conjunct Pluto, Mars is in the orb, to follow the Sun and conjunct Pluto on Dec 26, boxing day. Appropriately so, as Mars/Pluto is in some ways the "fighting jock" transit. Just another co-incidence or synchronicity depending on how you look at it.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Venus core, paired with the Two of Hearts. It is one of two pairs of Cards that trade places back and forth within each pair. Various incarnational expressions of this Card are Calvin Klein, Jodie Foster, Jack Welch, Dick Cavett, and Meg Ryan. Ironically, the character played by Jodie Foster in the Movie "Contact", Ellie Harroway had this same Birthcard (a different Birthday, but the same Birthcard). Is that random or what?

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Dec 16 2008

Mars is exact sextile Neptune today, and will remain within the orb for the next week or so. Possibly a bit more kick-back, self reflective with empathy and caring for those around you. Moon in Leo will be opposite Neptune and trine Mars around 11 am PST. Moon will be trine Sun at 4:45 pm PST, after which she will enter Moon Void of Course till a bit after midnite. In the morning there may be high sensitivity, to the point of feeling inferiority or lack of confidence with a mixed signal saying go for it, start something. By early afternoon, the mood should be better, less mixed. It will be a good evening to chill, wrap things/projects up, hang with friends, go see an arthouse flick.

The Birthcard today is the Two of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Saturn core, with an Ace of Spades inside and a King of Hearts outside. Arthur C. Clarke, Tom Petty, Sandra Bullock, Mick Jagger, and Segolene Royal all share this Birthcard.

Monday, December 15, 2008

Dec 15 2008

We will be feeling the Mars/Sun T-square of the Saturn/Uranus---although Sun is pulling away from exact conjunct Mars, and Saturn is past exact opposite Uranus, Mars is exact square Saturn today at 2:47 pm PST. Possible issues with fear and authority, safety versus carelessness. Our friend the Moon in Leo will be opposite Venus today, exact at 1:21 pm PST. Venus is close to the north node, and Moon is close to the south node, so a general feeling of good vibes may be tempered with a slight inability to relate them elsewhere, ie share them. This, along with the above mentioned Mars/Saturn highlight may be a wash, but if you proceed with caution rather than recklessness, you may find it to be a friendly universe after all today.

The Birthcard today is the Three of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Mars core, with a Five of Diamonds inside and a King of Diamonds outside. Recognizable names of incarnations expressing through this Birthcard include Freeman Dyson, J. Paul Getty, Howard Dean, Martin Scorsese, and Bill Murray.

Dec 14 2008

If you remember any out of the ordinary, exotic dreams, that was Moon trine Uranus in the middle of the night, finding an playground directly in your sleeping psyche. She will be sextile Saturn exact at 8:40 am PST; later in the day she will be opposite Jupiter, exact at 2:27 pm PST, after which she goes into Moon Void of Course till 10:22 pm PST when she emerges in Leo. There may be a theme today of more solitude, independence, less social or groupthink---in the morning we may feel a need to regroup our feelings, not in a lonely way, but in a way that the good side of solitude can bring. By noon, the mood is likely to be a good one, with a flavor of harmoniously asserting our independence. We do need each other as mirrors and reference points, and this is a good time to cherish the diversity of connections that enriches. Later in the afternoon and through the evening, just chill while Moon is VOC.

The Birthcard today is the Four of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core, with a Five of Clubs inside and a Six of Hearts outside. Spike Jones, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sophia Loren, Tori Amos, and John-David all share this Birthcard.

Dec 13 2008

Hopefully you are still here after yesterday. Any dreams remembered? They might be theraputic, as Moon was opposite the Pluto/Mercury conjunction in the middle of the night. Unless you were up in the middle of the night engaging in some other form of therapy. Today, the Moon at home in Cancer is taking a breather, but all the other transits mentioned a couple posts ago are still there. Later in the day, Moon will be opposite Juno, exact by 9 pm PST, and entering the orb of trine Uranus, exact in the wee hours. Dreams likely more exotic, less theraputic. Likely a bit of a domestic flavor added by Moon opposite Juno, as Juno is in some ways the higher octave of Venus.

The Birthcard of the day is the Five of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Saturn core, with a Five of Hearts inside and a Four of Clubs outside. Beverly D'Angelo, Ziggy Marley, Arthur Miller, Evel Knievel, Kenny Rogers, and Al Gore are incarnational examples of this restless and inquisitive Birthcard. Think how much better the world would be now...every fork in the road has a better choice. It's up to us to recognise and take that choice.

Dec 12 2008 Full Moon

Full Moon has it's lore, and this one could be more Full Moonish than usual, with a grand cross setting the stage in the morning followed by Moon Void of course throughout the day. Annoyed then Blah. Making the "Grand" cross, Moon is opposite Sun and Mars, and square Saturn and Uranus. Quite a whallop. Just to add to the fun, Mercury is conjunct Pluto, exact at 10:41 am PST (during VOC), so all the penetrating inquiries and deep conversation won't have any traction or resolution. Potentially frustrating. Remember the Beatles? Let it be. Full Moon is exact at 8:37 am PST, the Moon is Void of Course from 10:01 am PST till 10:40 pm PST when she "enters" Cancer, where she feels right at home, sensitive and all. Wear your seatbelts, literally and figuratively today.

The Birthcard today is the Six of Clubs, a Neptune implementation of a Saturn core, with an Eight of Spades inside and a Two of Diamonds outside---either the policeman or the psychic. Yanni (!), Condoleezza Rice (!!), Tim Robbins, Ron Paul, Hunter S. Thompson, and John Glenn are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Dec 11 2008

Now that Mercury has moved away from the T-square of the Saturn Uranus opposition, and is almost conjunct Pluto, Sun and Mars have moved to take the place T-squaring Saturn and Uranus. Different kind of edge likely for the next week or so. Penetrating mental inquiries. Other flavors likely are along the line of rebellion against authority figures; difficult choice between duty and self-gratification; pent-upness; upsets; accidents. If one is pro-active (yes, a cliche phrase, but fitting) these tendencies will less likely find a place with you. "Hard" aspects/transits like these "assist" us, or prompt us, give us opportunities (another overused cliche that still fits, cliche or not) to be aware, be current, be conscious, make choices, and paradoxically surrender and let go or allow...generally good strategies in any kind of weather. Shorter term, our friend the waxing Moon in Gemini is trine Venus this morning, exact at 6:11 am PST. The good feelings associated with this transit, cuddly warm fuzzies all around will offset some of the above mentioned stuff. By dusk, Moon will be in the orb of trine Chiron, so the mood may shift from relational to mothering, as in nurturing with a bit more of a one sided slant. In general, it would be good to be alert for the next week or so, slow down, take cautious and deliberate steps.

Today's Birthcard is the Seven of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core, with an Eight of Diamonds inside and a Jack of Spades outside. Bill Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Ogden Nash, and Robin Williams all share this Birthcard.

We include familiar names associated with the Birthcards not for celebrity worship, nor for simplistic reductionism, far from it: if one looks deeply into the characters, similar Archetypal "flavors" do appear---each Card has it's flavor. Enjoy the smorgasbord.

Dec 10 2008 Grand Trine

How were your dreams last night? Moon in Taurus was square Chiron overnight, and sextile Uranus right before dawn, so this might be a good morning to process those restless Dreams, they may provide insight into one's woundings that become gifts. As Moon is square Neptune exact at 10:38 am PST, the dreamy state may extend well beyond dawn into the waking hours. Moon is also trine both Jupiter and Saturn who are trine each other for a grand trine till around 2 pm PST, so a feeling of balance will likely be available. From 2:23 pm PST till 11:33 pm PST Moon will be Void of Course, so it would be best to let a perceived lack of mojo for the afternoon and evening just slide...it will pass.

Today's Birthcard is the powerful Eight of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Neptune core, one of the three source cards that is the same inside as outside, WYSIWYG. Thomas Dolby, Hank Paulson, Timothy Geithner, Gary Wright, and Meryl Streep are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Dec 9 2008

Hopefully, you had good dreams last nitey-nite as Moon in Taurus was conjunct Vesta and then square Venus in the middle of the night. Mercury is moving away from T-square of the Saturn Uranus opposition, and Sun is just past conjunct Mars, so we are likely feeling a bit of a mellowing of any edge experienced over the last week or so. Our friend the Moon will be quieter today than yesterday, by afternoon there will likely be a generally harmonious feeling in regards to long term relationships, one of closeness, as Moon enters the orb of trine Juno, exact by 9 pm PST. This may also be a good time to revisit old woundings in the safe context of closeness, as Moon will be in the orb of square Chiron, exact in the middle of the night.

The Birthcard today is the Nine of Clubs, a Venus expression of a Saturn core, with a Queen of Hearts inside and a Six of Diamonds outside. Different incarnations expressing through this Birthcard include John Malkovich, Calista Flockhart, Valerie Innes, Barbara Boxer, Donny and Marie Osmond, and Sammy Hagar.

Dec 8 2008

Another Kaleidoscope day of shifting flavors: Moon in Aries is sextile Neptune, exact at 9:06 am PST; then square Jupiter a bit after noon; then trine Mercury at 1:35 pm PST; then Void of course from a hair after 1:35 pm PST till 10:52pm PST when she "enters" Taurus. And just to round out the day, Moon will be trine Pluto, exact at 11:35 pm PST. Likely to be sensitive earlier in the day, good time to be close to those with whom you can relate. A general feeling of goodwill will also be there, with a possibility of being too overbearing with good intentions. By noon, the words may flow to those with whom you can relate, then during Moon Void of Course the usual advice is to chill. For the afternoon and evening, just let inertia take it's course if possible. Dreams are likely to pick back up the pace, with a theme of depth being likely, or something having deeper meaning if one pays attention to the subtle and not so subtle hints emerging into one's dreamworld.

The Birthcard today is the Ten of Clubs, a Crown expression of a Mars core, with a Jack of Spades inside and a Four of Spades outside. Kim Basinger, Angela Bassett, Hunter S. Thompson, John Glenn, and Bernie Taupin are varied expressions sharing this Birthcard.

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Dec 7 2008

Moon is Aries will be square Juno, exact by sunset, and trine Mars, exact at 10:52 pm PST. See the last few posts for the general flavors of the week, as Moon's emphasis will be felt later in the day. By afternoon, there may be a bit of the classic quandry: one's own emotional needs vs a relationship; but after sunset, self assertion will find a balance point.

The Birthcard today is the ingenious Jack of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Venus core, with a Jack of Diamonds inside and a Ten of Hearts outside. Naom Chomsky, Carl Sagan, Jacqueline Bisset, and Ralph Nader all share this Birthcard.

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Dec 6 2008

Busy progression today, a kaleidoscope of flavors. The slower (relatively) moving transits still are: Mercury T-squaring the Uranus Saturn opposition, Mercury sextile Neptune, Jupiter trine Saturn, Sun passing the conjunction with Mars (hope you emerged from yesterday unscathed). See prior post for most of those specifics. There are seemingly polarized influences which will affect each natal chart differently, with the Mercury T-square of Saturn/Uranus adding clarity, and the Mercury sextile with Neptune being dreamy and non-specific.

Our friend the Moon is sextile Jupiter at dawn, sextile Venus exact at 4:43 pm PST, then Void of course till 6:44 pm, then square Pluto exact at 7:22 pm PST. Generally, feeling good and sociable in the morning, feeling closer relationially in the context of sociable later in the day, sub-optimal mojo around dinnertime, then in the evening seemngly abruptly, almost complusively deep feelings will bubble up from the depths. The easy go-with-the-flow approach that worked so well during the day will not be as easy in the evening, but will be essential to keep one's bearings. Any repressed stuff is likely to show up, either directly or covertly.

The Birthcard of the day is the Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core, with a Three of Hearts inside and a Ten of Diamonds outside. Various incarnations expressing this card include Henry Waxman, Nickolas Sarkozy, Cher, Halle Berry, and Paul McCartney.

Dec 5 2008 First Quarter Waxing Moon

Could be intense today, Sun is conjunct Mars, exact at 2 pm PST, and the Moon in Pisces sweeps square both of them a hair earlier, at 1:30 pm PST. Later in the afternoon, Moon will be into the orb of conjunct Uranus, exact by 10 pm PST. In the middle of the night, Moon will be opposite Saturn. In general, stay away from sharp objects, and be careful with heavy machinery today. There will be energy to start and do things, plenty of go-juice, but be careful to keep it focused so that entropic whoopses don't cause harm. Challenges and irritations may want attention if you let them. Past dusk, there may be a feeling of loneliness with a desire for something new, unusual, or exotic---be aware of potential upsets or surprises. Play safe, or better yet, wait it out, go howl at the half-Moon. It will pass by tomorrow.

The Birthcard today is the King of Clubs, a double Uranus with a Two of Spades inside and an Eight of Spades outside. Those who share this Birthcard include Little Richard, Marie Curie, Arianna Huffington, Joni Mitchell, and Gary Stadler.

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Dec 4 2008

If you felt a vague lack of mojo this morning or got out on the wrong side, don't panic, Moon was Void of Course till 10:23 am PST, when she officially enters Pisces, where if not exactly at home, she should feel an affinity. Moon will be sextile Pluto today, exact at 10:54 am PST, so it will be a good time to pay attention to those deep feelings and emotions that bubble up now, the mysterious may hold more of a fascination than usual. Any OCDish tendencies are best put into something mundane or physical, to give them a healthier outlet.

For the next week or so, Mercury will be T-square of the Saturn/Uranus opposition, so there may be a buzz of intense thinking, almost overwhelming, but with a bit of a block or difficulty communicating those brilliant, clear ideas.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Diamonds, a Jupiter implementation of a Neptune core, with a Two of Diamonds inside and an Ace of Hearts outside. George Soros, Angela Davis, Jessica Lange,
and Pat Metheny all share this Birthcard.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Dec 3 2008

Our friend the shadowy Moon in Aquarius will be sextile Mercury exact at 7:21 am PST, so communications of thoughts/intellect and feeling may well be congruent, at least early in the day. Later in the day, communications may be not as stellar, and sensitivity may run amok, delusions and dreams may take center stage. Art may be the best mode of expression, go see an artsy film. Talk later. Moon will be conjunct Neptune, exact at 6:15 pm PST, followed by Void of Course through tomorrow mid-morning.

The Birthcard today is the Two of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Saturn core, with a Six of Clubs inside and an Ace of Diamonds inside. Daryl Hannah, Art Garfunkel, Vladmir Putin, and Hugh Grant all have this as their Birthcard.

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Dec 2 2008

Till afternoon, there is inertia of yesterday's transits, Venus is Pulling away from conjunct Jupiter. What we are likely to feel is Sun conjunct Mars---almost conjunct, and mellowed by a sextile with the Moon in Aquarius, exact with the Sun at 9:45 pm PST and exact with Mars at 11:22 pm PST. Sun/Mars by itself would have an edge to the go-juice, but the sextile of the Moon will make this a bit more conducive to harmonious go-juice.

The Birthcard of the day is Three of Diamonds, a Mercury expression of a Uranus core, with a Six of Hearts inside, and a Queen of Diamonds outside. Harry Reid, Paul Watson, David Brin, Thor Heyerdahl, and Peter Sellers are incarnational examples of this Card.

Monday, December 1, 2008

Dec 1 2008

At Dawn, Moon is conjunct the Venus/Jupiter conjunct, then goes Void of Course from 7:44 am till 10:45 pm PST. Good day to linger longer in bed if possible. Generally, the flavor is likely to be one of good feelings, good relations, being able to "work things out"with harmonious resolution.

The Birthcard of the day is the Four of Diamonds, a Neptune implementation of a Venus core, with a Five of Spades inside and a Five of Hearts outside. Woody Allen, Richard Tarnas, Steve Miller, and Chrissie Hynde all share this birthcard.

Sunday, November 30, 2008

Nov 30 2008

By afternoon, Moon in Capricorn entering the orb of sextile Uranus and trine Saturn, but most of the attention today is likely the Venus Jupiter conjunction, exact at midnight. They are visible after sunset in the west. Tempering, or balancing, in a good way is Venus Saturn trine concurrent with Jupiter Saturn trine. Today is likely a day of relationships, both the passionate and practical sides of them; heart to heart the foibles and fortunes of them.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Nov 29 2008

Don't make any life altering decisions till after 10 am PST when Moon emerges from Void of Course into Capricorn. At the same time, she is conjunct Pluto and trine Vesta. Possibility of deep and intense emotions, good time to get in touch with instinctual feelings. Longing for home or that feeling of home and all it represents? Moon-Pluto is the "therapist's transit", superficiality will not do. Maybe hold off on that life altering decision from 10:01 am a bit longer, till this evening after the volcano has cooled off and solidified. Remember that not all volcanoes are explosive, some just flow magma from the depths that eventually becomes fertile soil.

Today's Birthcard is the Four of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Mercury core, with a Four of Spades inside and a Ten of Spades outside. Jacques Chirac, Johannes Kepler, Louis Pasteur, and John Keats are various incarnations expressing through this Card.

Friday, November 28, 2008

Nov 28 2008

Moon in Sagittarius will be T-squaring the Saturn/Uranus opposition today, which could indicate a restless depression overlaid with and distinct from the intensity of the Sun/Mercury/Mars trio; fortunately Venus and Jupiter are close to conjunction (exact Sunday night) and that conjunction is both trine Saturn and sextile Uranus. This would indicate a different flavor, one of balance and good luck. Maybe you have noticed that days with mixed signals are more common than days with clear signals; further all these combos transit your Natal chart in ways obviously beyond the capabilities of this generalized weather report. Sometime in the future there may be Archetypal mood-ring web pages; until then, it is a good thing to get to know the nuances of one's own Natal chart---see the links on the left. Moon goes into Void of Course at 5 pm PST till 10 Sat morning, so another chill fri nite is in order.

Today's Birthcard is the Five of Hearts, a Saturn implementation of a Venus core, with a Four of Diamonds inside and a Five of Clubs outside. Jon Stewart, Randy Newman, Grace Slick, and Michael Dukakis are incarnational expressions of this Card.

Nov 27 2008 New Moon

Pluto has just entered Capricorn, will be there thru 2024, and Uranus goes direct today. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was the late 1700s. Something big happened then. Changes, more changes with some mojo to back them up. The slow brew of evolution becomes revolution in breaking down old structures and rebuilding new structures, which will eventually become old structures in need of being broken down and rebuilt. Those who have learned from history are doomed to watch those who have not learned from history repeat it.

Speaking of--- and in time for T-day: one of the bloggers here would like to and is offering a heart-felt apology to the Indigenous Peoples of North America for what my ancestors did to your ancestors, directly or in complicity. By the act colonization with the following acts of relocation, religious conversion, habitat destruction, and outright genocide---unfathomable loss and pain has been caused. There is no returning, but there is an opportunity to learn, reconcile, listen to the wisdom of the elders. To all our relations.

New Moon in Sagittarius is conjunct Sun exact at 8:54 am PST, conjunct Mercury, exact at 11:31 am PST, and conjunct Mars, exact at 1:56 pm PST. The tricky part of the trio of Sun/Mercury/Mars is differentiating emotions from intellect and the collective reality, one could be quite convinced what one feels is fact, and damn the facts...and with the extra emphasis by the Moon sweeping over, doubly so. Likely to be quite emotional today, with a feeling (hah!) of something uncorked, and moving forward.

The Birthcard of the day is the Six of Hearts, a double Mars, with a a Four of Clubs inside and a Three of Diamonds outside. Various incarnations expressing this Card are Richard Dreyfuss, Isaac Newton, Annie Lenox, and a spectacular example of the shadow side of this Archetype: Karl Rove.

Nov 26 2008 Moon Void of Course

Our shadowy friend the Moon will be Void of Course from 4 in the morning till a bit after 9 in the evening, PST, soooo chill today. If there is a distinct lack of mojo, don't panic, it will pass by later this evening. Good day to reflect, read, wrap things up rather than starting them. Go fly a kite. Just because. But not in a lightning storm.

The Birthcard of the day is Seven of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Mercury core, with an Eight of Hearts inside and an Ace of Spades outside. Varied incarnations of this card are Julia Roberts, Rich Little, Tina Turner, and surprisingly to some, Bill Gates.

Nov 25 2008

With Mercury exactly conjunct Sun this morning and Mars nearby, look for sharp intellect, biting wit. Or they may look for you. Later in the day, things are likely to mellow out, with Moon sextile Venus, exact by 5:19 pm PST and trine Uranus, exact by 10:47 PM PST. The flavor is likely to be nurturing, emotionally connected, "warm fuzzy", with the potential downside of being too passive, as in "feed me, nurture me", assisted by a Moon square Chiron shortly after dusk. Later in the evening the may be a flavor of excitement, aliveness, with possible pleasant surprises. In the middle of the night, Moon will be sextile midpoint between the Saturn Jupiter trine, so there is potential for a night of good dreams.

The Birthcard of the day is the emotionally powerful Eight of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Jupiter core, with a Seven of Spades inside and a Seven of Hearts outside. Various examples of expression of this card are Joe DiMaggio, Richard Gere, Madeline Kahn, and the one and only John Cleese.

Nov 24 2008

After being exact sextile Pluto at 9:45 am PST, Moon briefly goes Void of Course and enters Scorpio a hair before 10 am PST. The morning is likely to be a good time for plumbing the depths, exploring mysteries, and rejecting traditional dogma. Later in the day, our friend the Moon is taking a break from any significant aspects. Over the next couple of weeks, Venus will be in the orb of Conjunct Jupiter, so warm fuzzies will be a flavor added to the mix, mellowing some, but not all of the edge from the Mercury/Sun/Mars trio induced intense intellect.

The Birthcard of today is the Nine of Hearts
a double Saturn with a "veiled" double Venus. Brigitte Bardot, Hillary Clinton, Gwyneth Paltrow are different examples of this Birthcard.

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Nov 23 2008

There is a loose trio conjunction of Mercury, Sun, and Mars for the next week, so there is likely to be a sharp, intense intellect permeating the daily flavors.

How were your dreams? Moon/Venus overnight were conducive to harmonious experiences. Riding on that afterglow, Moon will be square Jupiter, exact at 4pm PST and trine Neptune, exact at 5:30pm PST...so the day has good potential. If the day were a person, s/he would be the optimistic dreamer of ideals.

Dreams tonight may have a flavor of deep, profound emotions, with a tendency towards the mysterious or the occult thanks to Moon entering the orb of sextile Pluto after midnight.

Today's Birthcard is the Ten of Hearts, a Jupiter implementation of a Mars core, with a Jack of Clubs inside and a Five of Spades outside. Jane Fonda, Harpo Marx, J. K. Rowling, and Phil Donahue are various examples of expression of this Card.

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Nov 22 2008

If you had any dreams of compulsion or power struggles, relax, was Moon square Pluto last night, now passing. Later in the night Moon was sextile Sun, so the residual effects of that would be indictive of a good time for conjugal relations, good for yin-yang communication. Moon in Libra is sextile Mars, exact at 8:56 am PST, so generally, the flavor today is likely one of emotional clarity, balance and expression---forward but not too aggressive. A good evening for socializing, and should be nice(r) dreams, as Moon is heading towards square Venus, exact in the middle of the night. Have fun, and play safe.

The Birthcard of the day is the Jack of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Jupiter core, a source card with the same inside and outside, all JH all the time. Charles De Gaulle, Ahnold the Governator, T.S. Elliot, Uri Geller, and George Gershwin are various expressions of this Card.

Nov 21 2008

After passing opposite Uranus while you were asleep, the Moon in Virgo is conjunct Saturn and trine Jupiter, exact at 6:16 am PST. Later, Moon will be sextile Mercury, exact at 9:16 pm PST. The likely flavor for the day, after digesting some restless or possibly surprising dreams is one of practical introspection, but with a bit of an edge, wanting to do something---less metaphor and more hands on. After dark, we will likely be more sociable, and communicative with others.

The Birthcard of the day is the Queen of Hearts, a double Neptune with a Ten of Spades inside and Nine of Clubs outside. She can be emotionally, er, poignant. Edith Piaf and Catherine Zeta-Jones would be examples.

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Nov 20 2008

Most of the day we will be feeling Moon in Virgo trine Venus, exact at 10:45 am PST. There is likely to be a tendency towards aesthetics, beauty, eros---good vibes all around, good for relational AND sociable. After dusk, there may be a shift towards a bit more of a loner (in a good way--- alone, but not lonely), a practical "get it done" kind of meme as Moon enters the orb of conjunct Saturn and trine Jupiter. More on that tomorrow.

The Birthcard of the day is the powerful King of Hearts, a Mars expression of a  Mercury core, with a Two of Clubs inside and a Nine of Spades outside. Examples are Joe Biden and Jackie Kennedy/Onassis.

Nov 19 2008 Moon Last Quarter

If you had weird dreams last night, don't worry about it, was Moon opposite Neptune, now passing.
Through the day, Moon will be sweeping through square Mercury exact at 6:49am PST, square Sun exact at 1:31pm PST, and square Mars exact at 10:14pm PST. There will be a brief Moon Void of Course from 4:45pm till 5:15pm PST when Moon will enter Virgo from our perspective. Just to deepen things up a bit, Moon will be trine Pluto, exact right before the Void of Course. In the morning, it might be a good idea to punt in the emotional realm---don't shift to match, or stuff them, just chill till later. Generally, if things are in the groove, there will be more energy today, but anything out of sorts has the potential for irritation. Intense and sensitive, stay away from sharp objects.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Venus core, paired with the Two of Hearts. It is one of two pairs of Cards that trade places back and forth within each pair. Various expressions of this Card are Jodie Foster, Ray Charles, Larry King, and Meg Ryan.

Nov 18 2008

With the exception of the Moon, we have a continuation of the transits from the last few days. The one and only Moon will be opposite Chiron today, exact at 4pm PST. This portends to a day of recap, reflection on the last few, with an added kick or sensitivity from Moon opposite Chiron. What did you learn, what did you "get", what is worth integrating?

The Birthcard of the day is the Two of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Saturn core, with an Ace of Spades inside and a King of Hearts outside. Various examples of this card are C.J. Jung, Beethoven, Mel Brooks, and Mick Jagger.

Sunday, November 16, 2008

Nov 17 2008

Mercury is square Neptune today, look out for munged communications. Venus is conjunct Juno today, possibly adding a tinge of one's own needs versus one's relationship. Before dawn, Moon will be trine Sun, then Void of course from 6am PST till 1pm PST when she enters (from our perspective) Leo. Mrowrrrr. The telegraph may swap a few dots and dashes, so hold off till afternoon for important communications. Moon will be trine Mars exact at 3pm PST. Predawn is likely to be good for conjugal relationships, then chill till afternoon, when there is likely to be more mojo.

Today's Birthcard is the Three of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Mars core, with a Five of Diamonds inside and a King of Diamonds outside. An singular example of the Three of Clubs would be JFK.

Nov 16 2008 Another Grand Trine

Today we have a "kite" formation with Moon in Cancer opposite Jupiter while she is trine Mercury and Uranus, who are also trine each other. As there are multiple players here, there will be a zone of exactness amongst these for a few hours after dusk.

Excluding natural disasters, the general flavor of the day is a good one--- being in touch with feelings; grounded, progressive thoughts; magnanimous relations---a renniasance day. Empathy to those experiencing hardships and turmoil. If you are feeling good, it would be a good time to reach out in/with a sense of community.

Today's Birthcard is the Four of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core, with a Five of clubs inside, and a Six Hearts outside. Various examples of expression of this Card are Sophia Loren, Amelia Earhart, Chuck Berry, and Spike Jones.

Nov 15 2008 Deep Moon

Our friend the Moon will be opposite Pluto, exact at 11am PST, then Void of course till noon PST, when entering Cancer. After dusk she will be opposite Venus, exact st 6:30pm PST. We also have Mercury sextile Saturn and trine Uranus. Maybe a bit of electricity in the air, but more introspective than flamboyant.
In the morning there is a possibility of deep, probing emotional experiences, without resolution. Later in the day, expect a more sociable mood to appear, on the muted side of extravagant.

The Birthcard today is the Five of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Saturn core, with a Five of Hearts inside and a Four of Clubs outside. The almost obligatory celebrity reference for this card is Al Gore.

Nov 14 2008

Sun is approaching conjunct Mars, and Venus is moving away from conjunct Pluto, and Saturn is just past opposite Uranus. Our friend, the shadowy Moon in Gemini will be T-square Uranus and Saturn, exact 6pm to 7pm PST. Moon is also trine Neptune, exact later around 10pm PST.
Take extra care in relationship, there may be tendencies to feeling alone even when close to someone; and desiring new connections even when close to someone. It would be good to channel that into something creative rather than something destructive---movement, Art. Later, a good evening for dreaming.

The Birthcard of today is the Six of Clubs, a Neptune implementation of a Saturn core, with an Eight of Spades inside and a Two of diamonds outside. James Baker, Bob Dole, Oscar Wilde, and Jay Leno are examples of different expressions of this Card.

Nov 13 2008 Mooning Mars

As Sun in Scorpio squares Neptune in Aquarius, Moon moves to exact opposite Mars 9am PST, then Void of Course from 9am till noon PST, when she enters Gemini (or appears to enter Gemini from our perspective). Be aware of tendencies of irritability, reactivity. These will pass, hopefully without damage. It is best to move slowly today, as brashness, sudden reactions can make us accident prone if we are not being present, mindful---and unthinkingly take risks. Be careful when on the road, 69% of the other drivers are caused by accidents.

The Birthcard today is the Seven of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core, with an Eight of Diamonds inside and a Jack of Spades outside. Robin Williams, Mike Meyers, Bill Clinton, and Miles Davis are examples of the expression of this Card, sometimes known in a reductionistic way as the melancholy genius card.

Nov 12 2008 Busy Grand Trine

Venus is just pulling away, but is still in the orb of conjunct Pluto. Besides being full Moon tonight---10pm PST, the Moon is busy in Taurus today. Exact opposite Mercury 9am PST, into a grand trine with Jupiter and Saturn exact by early evening, sextile Uranus at the same time; and square Neptune later, exact by 11pm PST. In the morning, passion, emotions, and feelings are likely to win out over logic and reason. But, good for delving deeply into one's patterns through the language of emotion. Along with the well deserved reputation of Full Moon, later in the day there may be a tendency to a feeling of being in charge, of well being---good for rounding out and resolving what came up earlier in the day. Should be a dreamy evening. Particularly today, avoid self medication or chemical stimulation, and let the dreamy otherworldliness of Neptune T-squaring Moon and Sun take you places with a clear head. Lots of Archetypal Neptune in the air. Could be mystical, spiritual, enlightening, or delusional. Depends on you.

The Birthcard of the day is the Eight of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Neptune core, the power of knowledge, a source card with the same inside and outside, all 8C all the time. It is Neil Young's birthday and of course birthcard. Thomas Dolby, Robert Redford, and David Copperfield, and Rajan Sankaran are other examples of various expressions of this birthcard.

Nov 11 2008 Armistice Day

The Sun in Scorpio is sextile both, and exactly midpoint between a trine of Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo. Extending another sextile to Jupiter is Uranus in Pisces, also trine Sun. So, for the 90th anniversary of Armistice Day, there is considerable harmonious support of the Uranus/Saturn opposition. Change, upheval of the old, outmoded structures, with reconstruction towards support of a higher level of coherence.

Venus will be exactly conjunct Pluto 10pm PST, but throughout the day, we will be feeling the trine of Moon on/to/with both of them, which will be exact right before 11am PST, when the Moon will briefly go Void of Course from 11am till noon PST.

The Birthcard of the day is Nine of Clubs, a Venus expression of Saturn, with a Queen of Hearts inside and a Six of Diamonds outside. Ella Fitzgerald, Demi Moore, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kurt Vonnegut are examples of different expressions of this Birthcard.

November 10 2008

Moon is now in Aries. During the day and this evening Moon will square Jupiter and sextile Neptune. Moon/Neptune - permeable boundaries with others, easier time of sharing feelings, listening, and empathy. Can be a tendency to overdo with Moon/Jupiter. Sun is being aspected by Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus. Anything to do with your ego self, what you identify with, projects you are involved in are associated to the Sun. Sun conjunct Mercury - adding mental acuity, attention to details, communication of ideas. Sun sextile Jupiter -  confidence, cooperation, optimism. Sun trine Uranus - productive, creative, innovative. In contrast to these aspecting planets to the Sun, Sun square Neptune can be the flip side to the confidence to put yourself and your ideas out there. Sun/Neptune can be experienced as a lack of confidence in your abilities, feelings of failure, wanting to avoid situations where you feel inadequate.

Awareness is a key to navigating in astralfog. Get to know the transits, how long they last, and ways to express them that are the least disruptive. Better conscious than not when it comes to experiencing these planetary archetypes.

November 9 2008 Waxing Moon

Moon will be Void of Course for an hour this morning between 8:30 and 9:30 am PST. Today the main aspects for the Moon will be square Pluto (which is part of the Venus/Pluto conjunct) and trine Mars (which is part of the Sun/Mars conjunct). Moon/Pluto will be exact at 8:30 am PST. Moon/Pluto may be experienced as being pulled into old patterns and emotional issues. As the Moon gets closer to Full Moon you may experience a heightened sense of the transits.
Longer transits - You may feel a strong drive to get things done (Sun/Mars) and possible relational tension with Venus/Pluto. Sun is also sextile Jupiter and sextile Saturn. Sun/Jupiter can bring out a desire to be magnanimous. Sun/Saturn - support for seeing projects through to completion. Uranus/Saturn opposition is still a strong transit for changing outmoded structures.

Today is Jack of Clubs. This card has a Jack of Diamonds on the inside and a ten of hearts on the outside. Its planetary influences are Venus and Uranus. Oprah Winfrey has a Jack of Clubs birthcard. You can see her desire for knowledge (clubs), desire to communicate that which is of value (diamonds), and her ease with groups - sharing passion and compassion (hearts). Elton John, Shirley Temple, Ben Affleck share a Jack of Clubs birthday. Jacks are highly creative!!

Nov 8 2008 Contrasting Moon

Our friend the Moon will be trine the Sun in the morning and sextile Jupiter (which is also sextile Sun) around noon, followed in the afternoon by conjunct Uranus (1:40pm PST) and opposite Saturn (2:30pm PST). Be aware of possible upsets in the mid-afternoon. Likely that there will be pleasant vitality, with good relations in the morning, contrasted with a surprise or upset in feelings, especially in close relationships and perception that you are alone, or feelings of isolation, some type of withdrawing from others later in the day. Here's the adventure, can you discern which of these you perceive, and can you differentiate and choose what you focus on and experience? With Venus moving closer to Pluto and Sun catching up with Mars, today may be a preview of relational issues that will present themselves in the next couple of weeks. See yesterday's post.

The Birthcard of the day is the intuitive Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core, with a Three of Hearts inside and a Ten of Diamonds outside. Will Ferrell, Nicholas Sarkozy, Cher, and Alan Alda are examples of different expressions of this Birthcard.

November 7 2008 Moon relating

Moon will be trine Mercury this morning then later in the day will trine Sun. These soft aspects will be conducive to communicating how you feel to others and experiencing a sense of balance between your logical and emotional self. Towards the evening Moon will be closer to conjunct Uranus which can be an upset in feelings, especially in close relationships. As Moon conjuncts Uranus it will also be opposing Saturn - perception that you are alone, or feelings of isolation, some type of withdrawing from others. The later Moon transits of the day will contrast the earlier feelings of clarity and productive communication. In the background to the Moon's activities, Sun is loose conjunct Mars - moving projects forward, asserting your ego self, perhaps wanting recognition. If not moving something forward it can feel like bottled irritability. As Sun is conjuncting Mars it is trine Uranus - this can bring in an aspect of uniqueness or innovative qualities to the projects that you are working with.

Relationships - Venus is close to conjunct Pluto - Take care in how you are working with this intense conjunct. Relationally Venus/Pluto can be experienced as digging up old patterns, jealousies, issues around power - taking each other into the depths. Giving this transit a creative and artistic expression other than talking could be more useful while it is aspecting. This transit will be exact next week so it gives you some time to work with its energy if you choose.

The Birthcard of today is King of Clubs, a double Uranus, with a Two of Spades inside and Eight of Spades outside. This is the card of Joni Mitchell (Nov. 7) and John Lennon (Oct 9). People with this card embody creative perspectives on life - express themselves in unique and impressionable ways. Their Kingly presence belies possible fears within of the unknown represented by the Two of Spades. The healing aspects of the Eight of Spades offers an ally for the King of Clubs as it is a mastery number and as a Spade holds the wisdom of the other suits.

Nov 6 2008 Let the Renissance begin

We shall continue to see the results of the last couple years: a transit of Saturn opposite Neptune followed by Saturn opposite Uranus. Exposing established structures and illusions, then changing the structures. As to shorter cycles, our friend the Moon has continued her cycles and is conjunct Neptune, sextile Venus, and square Mars today. Excluding how these transit/aspect your Natal chart of course, there may be tendencies towards: the veil between the "you" and the "not you" being thinner than usual; social and private/intimate friendship; paradoxically hasty, irritable moods that pass quickly.

Post election we will pen more thoughts on the pitfalls of prediction, including the naive presumption that Archetypal languages somehow can magically make rational the irrational....however, there is one source that has been an accurate mirror for the collective mish-mosh, only missing one presedential election call (in 1916!) ever: bookies. More later.

Today's Birthcard is the Ace of Diamonds, a Jupiter implementation of a Neptune core, with a Two of Diamonds inside and an Ace of Hearts outside.

November 5 2008 Whew!!!

Uranus opposite Saturn, exact yesterday. Change, for the better.

Today and in the next few days and weeks, notice the wording that is present in the comments about this election, about Obama, about the vision for the future, and about the possibilities for the US in relation to other countries. The energies of this transit will be around for awhile.

Uranus and Saturn will be in the orb of each other throughout 2009. Other planets will be effecting this transit as we can see happened on the election day. Pluto has been within the orb (10 degrees) of square Uranus since 2007 and will continue until 2020. It will be exact (less than 1 degree) square 2012 to 2015. Pluto is in the orb (10 degrees) square Saturn from November 2008 to August 2011. It will be exact square November 2009 to August 2010. Richard Tarnas in Cosmos and Psyche elucidates the intensities of the Pluto/Uranus transits as experienced in the French Revolution, the 1930's economic crash that brought in new monetary theories, and other revolutionary events. Saturn/Pluto can be experienced as building pressures and tensions when there is a hard aspect such as conjunction, square, or opposition. This powerful transit of destructive energies can be experienced as abrupt disruptions, deep seated fears of 'other', and conflicts of various proportions if we are unconscious individually or collectively. Pluto embodies the elemental forces of nature - death and rebirth cycles. Combined with the Promethean energies of Uranus and the ideological and structural forms of Saturn these combinations can be profoundly transformative. Tarnas views our era as a "renaissance." The transits of this era were last experienced 500 years ago. Neptune in Aquarius sextile Pluto (which will move from Sagittarius to Capricorn by the end of this year) is a soft aspect to the harder transits - the opportunity for deep spiritual transformation.

Your natal chart is in the midst of the world's planet transits in this incredible era. It will be interesting to see how things unfold as we become more conscious of the archetypal energies.

November 4 2008 Saturn/Uranus Exact

At 5:35 am PST Saturn (18 degrees Virgo) is exact opposition to Uranus (18 degrees Pisces). What aspects of Saturn will be upset through change? What changes will be resisted? What will be the third space from these archetypal energies? It will be interesting to experience the Moon during the Saturn/Uranus opposition, which has been void of course since 10:47 pm last night until 4:01 pm PST. Sun in Scorpio is trine Uranus - an emotional and energetic response to change. Venus/Pluto conjunct - power of emotions in relationship to others. Pluto has to do with power, possessiveness, plunging into the underworld. Venus is square Saturn and square Uranus - this may be expressed as upsets and sudden changes within a relational context - and feelings of being blocked or experiencing limitations. Venus is also sextile Neptune - Venusian ideals and illusions. Mars square Neptune - facing consequences of past actions, evaluation and possible self-doubt of actions taken, weakened energy. Jupiter is sextile Uranus and trine Saturn - opportunity for new ideas, altering plans - realization of responsibilities in the world. Neptune sextile Pluto - opportunity for deep transformation. Mercury will leave Libra today and enter into Scorpio - communications can take on hidden aspects.

Today is a 3 of diamonds. This card has a 6 of hearts as an inside source and a Queen of diamonds as its ally. The power and responsibility of this heart card can inform the indecisive quality of the three. Serving others with what is of value is an attribute of the Queen of diamonds that can guide in finding a beneficent direction.

November 3 2008 Moon/Jupiter day

Moon is approaching Jupiter in Capricorn and will be exact at 2:22 pm PST. Great transit for working in or with groups, great for feeling generous towards others. Moon/Jupiter is trine and sextile the Saturn/Uranus opposition - there is opportunity to support the changes of Uranus energy and support the structures on the Saturn side. Mars is also aspecting the Saturn/Uranus opposition. It is sextile Saturn which can be experienced as sustained energy towards projects and it is trine Uranus - breaking free of situations that feel constrictive or limiting. Neptune is squaring Mars - this can feel like a lack of energy to follow through. Take notice of your own energy to get things done in the next few days. Venus and Pluto (forming a loose conjunct in Sagittarius) are sextile Mercury and sextile Neptune. Ideals are at a heightened position with these transits. Venus is squaring the Saturn/Uranus opposition - this may be experienced as obstacles in relationships and or sudden upsets that are challenging. Neptune in Aquarius which has been retrograde is now direct. You may feel a subtle shift in the collective consciousness, more openness. Neptune is sextile Pluto which is deep spiritual transformation. This relationship between Neptune and Pluto may be experienced as an ally to the Saturn/Uranus tension of change and status quo.

Relationally you may feel very close to friends, lovers, and family (Moon/Jupiter) today with a background sense of Venus square Saturn, Venus square Uranus that there is some blockage or obstacles to face in relationship and that change is in the air.

Today's Birthcard is Four of Diamonds, the foundation in values, a Neptune implementation of a Venus core. Stable as it may be, there is an inner aspect of the Five of Spades and an outer aspect of the Five of Hearts. Fives can embody a Promethean energy of change.

November 2 2008

Saturn is 18 degrees Virgo and Uranus is 18 degrees Pisces today. It will be exact in terms of degrees and minutes on the morning of November 4th at 5:35 am PST. Be aware of this transit as it moves into an exact position. Strong Promethean energies of change challenge Saturnian limitations and visa versa. Emotions will be peaked on election day as Moon squares Mercury, as Mercury moves from Libra to Scorpio, and as a Venus/Pluto conjunct squares the Uranus/Saturn opposition.

Today Moon is conjunct Juno. This is a good transit for sharing and closeness in your long term relationships. It will be followed by Moon/Jupiter tomorrow - desires to work in or with large groups and feelings of generosity. You will probably feel some of the effects of the Moon/Jupiter towards the late evening. Enjoy these beneficent transits.

The Birthcard today is Five of Diamonds, a Saturn implementation of a Neptune core---a Nine of Diamonds on the inside and a Three of Clubs on the outside. See the mythology of Odin.

November 1 2008 Beyond Moon and Venus

Moon is making it's way from conjunct Venus last night to conjunct Pluto today. See yesterday's blog entry section of The Morning After. If you are having ups and downs in your relationships they may be reflecting the rather erratic emotional path of the Moon over the past few days and the somewhat longer transits of Venus that have to do with Saturn and Uranus. Venus will be moving towards Pluto as well so it will not be surprising to be pulled into some type of angst relationally. Moon will be sextile Neptune and Mercury which is good for expression of feelings and listening to others. This can be an ally in the midst of the other transits if you have things that really need to be expressed.

Saturn is still 1 degree away for exact opposition Uranus. It will be exact on November 2. Change and tradition are fulling facing each other.

The Birthcard of today is a 6 of diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Mercury core---responsibility in values. There is a Nine of Clubs inside, and a Three of Spades outside, a key is serving others with the universal knowledge of the nine through the help of the creative three.

October 31 2008 Bobbing for archetypes

Moon is approaching Venus and will be conjunct around midnight PST and will most likely be felt throughout the day and during your evening outings. Moon/Venus is a great transit for relating desires, feelings of closeness. However, there may be conflicting signals due to Venus squaring the Saturn/Uranus opposition. Venus/Saturn - obstacles or blockages to love relationships and Venus/Uranus - rather abrupt surprises or changes that have to do with relationships. Your personal natal chart in relation to these transits will probably be the determining factor of which way things go, or if you are really conscious of spotting the astralfog then you may be able to work with the archetypal energies. Venus is a loose sextile with Neptune and Mercury. This transit is great for fantasy, illusions and costuming - tonight is a perfect venue for Venus. Mercury trine Pluto adds to the love of the mysterious.

The Morning After (or whenever your wake up after your fun night out) - Mars square Neptune may be felt - strong self-doubt, low energy - along with Moon conjunct Pluto which can feel like a plunge into darker emotions - could be an overall feeling of being small, insignificant. In the next few days Moon will be passing over Pluto then to conjunct Juno (which is the higher octave of Venus concerning long term commitments) and then to Jupiter by November 3rd. This will be a stark contrast from the inward and self-depreciating transits of Mars/Neptune - Moon/Pluto. Take care and be aware of the possible extreme mood swings. Any transits that have to do with the Moon will pass within a day!! The Mars/Neptune will still be in the background. Find out what works for you when experiencing the archetypal whims.

Today's Birthcard is the Four of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Mercury core also known as the foundation of Love and Home. In contrast to the seemingly wild holiday of Hallow's Eve, the Four of Hearts is has a determined Four of Spades inside, and a Masterful Ten of Spades outside. The mythology of Iduna (Norse) is worth a look.

October 30 2008 Long Void of Course for the Moon

Moon Void of Course began last night at 10:45 pm and will last until 3:41 pm PST today. Void of Course is a good time to mull rather than move as your actions may not have the usual mojo. See what happens for you.

As for other transits - Venus is moving into square Saturn and Uranus. (Remember that Uranus and Saturn are 1 degree away from exact opposition.) The Venus transits can lean towards relational stress or upset. Venus is also sextile Mercury and Neptune. Check out the last two blog entries for more details.

The Birthcard of today is the Five of Hearts, a Saturn implementation of a Venus core. The mythology of Themis may be timely today.

October 29 2008 Waking up on the right side of the Moon

If you are feeling slightly irritable this morning - Moon is approaching conjunct Mars, 17 degrees Scorpio. It will be exact at 2:17 pm PST. As it moves towards exact conjunct Mars it is moving into square Neptune which is 21 degrees Aquarius to add to everyone's sensitivities. Moon/Neptune square is exact in the later pm before 10 PST. At the same time Moon will be sextile Saturn and Jupiter, and will be trine Uranus. Moon/Saturn - leaning towards alone time or wanting conversations that are serious and/or reflections on feelings as they relate to responsibilities. Moon/Jupiter - is the desire to be with others offering your support. Moon/ Uranus - wanting something new, out of the usual, could be a tendency towards impulsiveness. The New Moon is influencing the Uranus/Saturn opposition (which is 1 degree from exact) adding more emotion, connection, self-reflection to the major transit of change verses status quo. Neptune is sextile Pluto which is the opportunity for deep spiritual transformation.

If you are planning for the weekend festivities pay attention to Venus square Saturn and Uranus which could put some stress on your relationships by being overly critical or analytical, thinking you want change or trying to prevent it, or sudden impulsive moves. Just to confuse things Venus will be conjunct Moon and sextile Neptune on Halloween stirring romantic feelings and idealistic fantasies. There could be a tendency on the weekend to think you are crazy and confused however, remember the blog, take a deep breath, and have fun. Try not to get too caught up in the antics of the transits!!

The Birthcard of the day is the Six of Hearts, a double Mars. It has a inner Four of Clubs for a foundation of knowledge, and an outer Three of diamonds for change/decision in values. See the mythology of Ares for insights.

October 28 2008 New Moon

Moon conjunct Sun exact at 3:14 pm PST- New Moon - time of balance between feelings and logical self, re-energizing for what is ahead.

Saturn/Uranus opposition within 1 degree aspected by Mars and Jupiter sextiles and trines adding to support of both sides (Uranus - change, Saturn - structure). Neptune is aspecting Mars which may be experienced as a sense of weakening Marsian efforts of action perhaps by diffusing or confusing the issues. On the other side of things, Neptune is trine Mercury and Venus is sextile to both of these planets. Overall Neptune, Mercury, and Venus sharing soft aspects gives a place for vision questing, imagining how things can be, and setting intentions.

Be aware of Venus square Saturn throughout the week and weekend. You may find that you are seriously looking at your relationships, what is working, what is not. After this transit Venus will head to conjunct Pluto around election day and exact November 11th, which is intensity of emotions with those that are close to you, especially love relations.

Today is 7 of hearts day. The spirit card of this seven is ruled by the 8 of hearts, and its soul card is Ace of Spades. Love that serves others through wisdom finding the open paths of connection.

October 27 2008 Approaching New Moon

Moon in Libra is moving into trine Neptune in Aquarius this morning - exact around noon PST - and sextile Pluto in Sagittarius later this evening. Imaginal realms can be of interest with these soft Moon transits and the sensitivity for deep listening to others. Mercury in Libra (which Moon just passed) is also trine Neptune so there may be a desire to delve into mysteries, dreams, and concepts of a spiritual nature and to give them expression through the various artistic modalities. You may feel a subtle winding down as we approach New Moon on Tuesday.

Mars in Scorpio is trine Uranus, sextile Jupiter, and sextile Saturn. Mars as assertiveness and action in the world is aspecting the more challenging Saturn/Uranus opposition that is now within 1 degree of exact. Mars in relationship to the Saturn part of this opposition can be the opportunity to work the details of constructs (personal and worldwide) that are integral to well-being. Mars/Uranus is the opportunity to break away from old patterns, ways that no longer work. At the same time of these transits, Mars is moving into square with Neptune. Neptune has a tendency to weaken what it is aspecting (in a hard transit) so there may be a lack of energy to address pending changes. Venus is sextile Neptune and sextile Mercury. This Venus transit can be conducive for a creative-expressive space to work with images, feelings, and visions that may need extra care.

Venus is 8 degrees away from square Saturn - this can sometimes be experienced as the drive to evaluate your relationships, putting them under rigorous examination. This transit will be around until the first few days in November. Venus will then be heading for conjunct Pluto - exact by mid November. Don't be surprised if your relationships go through an intense emotional time over the next few weeks. Being aware of this push from the heavens may provide more opportunity to pace yourself, focus on what really matters, avoid potentially emotionally draining situations.

Saturn is 18 degrees Virgo and Uranus is 19 degrees Pisces. Check your natal charts (and those of your friends) to see how these planets may be aspecting your natal Ascendant, Sun, and Saturn. 10 degrees and less between your planets and the world planets can certainly be felt most dramatically. If you have been feeling significantly perturbed over the past few months and weeks, most likely you are in the firing line.

The Birthcard of today is the Eight of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Jupiter core. Power in Love and emotions with a flavor of the Mystic, the initiate. The mythology of Obatala (Africa) is another perspective to this one.

Oct 26 2008 Moon Heart

Relatively easy day globally if you are comfortable with feelings, Moon is sextile Venus (exact by 2pm PST) and Mercury is square Jupiter; both a friendly flavor with lots of warm fuzzies, only risk is sloppiness or complacency. Around dusk Moon is in the orb of conjunct Mercury---feelings will take center stage, either talkative or trouble wording them, could go either way. Remember that Love is not the question, Love is the answer.

Adding to the propensity for feelings and emotions in center stage, the Birthcard of the day is the Nine of Hearts, a double Saturn with a "veiled" double Venus. The mythologies of Aphrodite and Ch'eng-Huang may be heartening today.

October 25 2008

Moon in Virgo will be moving towards square Pluto in Sagittarius - exact around 6 pm PST. This transit can be experienced as a tendency to be pulled deeply into your emotions. There can also be a tendency towards power struggles with others. Moon will enter a short Void of Course at 6 pm to 7:47 pm. You may experience a lifting of the Moon/Pluto transit as Moon goes into Libra.

Check out yesterday's entry for a recap of the other significant transits.

Today's Birthcard is the Ten of Hearts, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core. Have a look at the mythologies of Zeus and Shango if you so desire.

October 24 2008 Well Past Mercury Retrograde

Hopefully you survived the last of the red stiction days of retrograde this past weekend and have been noticing better communication and less mishaps as each day passes. As we get closer to the election there is an increasing tension between Uranus and Saturn as these planets move toward exact opposition. Today Saturn is 17 degrees in Virgo and Uranus is 19 degrees Pisces. Moon will be aspecting this opposition (a tightrope of change and status quo) most the day and evening. Moon will be siding up with the status quo side (Saturn) starting this morning as it comes into 8 degrees conjunct Saturn and exact at 9 pm PST. Moon will be opposing Uranus - exact around midnight. Notice how these transits effect you. Do you sense the insistence of change and resistance to move in new directions? Does the Moon/Saturn create a feeling of having to face things alone - wanting to withdraw into a safe cocoon? Does Moon/Uranus feel like change is moving too fast, upseting, not knowing what the consequences will be? There is also a possibility of feeling desirous of big changes and a resolve to do what it takes to make things happen as contributing planets, Jupiter and Mars aspect Saturn/Uranus opposition. Jupiter, 15 degrees Capricorn is trine Saturn and sextile Uranus. Mars, 14 degrees in Scorpio is trine Uranus and sextile Saturn and Jupiter. Jupiter and Mars can be experienced as very supportive during this strong impetus for change.

Venus/Mercury sextile is great for the arts and writing. Sun/Pluto sextile - opportunity for productive depth work. Mercury/Jupiter square may be experienced as wanting to debate about political/philosophical issues. Neptune/Pluto sextile - awesome transit for significant spiritual understandings that are transformative. Neptune/Mercury coming into trine is a time of contemplating ideals, dreaming up how your world can be. Neptune/Mars square - Neptune diffuses the action of Mars. Can be a feeling of weakened efforts or can be attempts to get what you want through indirect or deceptive means. Be aware of the tendencies of Mars as it aspects various planets.

The Birthcard of the day is the Jack of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Jupiter core. The mythology of Krishna may hold meaning today.

Road Scholar

As it would not be appropriate to ask the house sitter to cover the blog, we will resume posting daily in about a week. Do have a look at the links in the meantime. Planets will continue to orbit and transit, the Moon will orbit and transit faster. The Birthcards will continue the trend, now in the Club Suit.

Oct 15 2008 un Retro

In the morning the Moon pulls away from trine Pluto and heads for opposite Mars, exact by 3 in the afternoon PST. In the evening, Moon will be conjunct Vesta. We would expect intense, deep partnerships in the morning. Be aware of a possibility of discord, irritation, in the afternoon. Be good to each other after the partnering this morning.

Mercury goes out of retrograde this afternoon. How does it feel to you? Remember that there are still a few stiction days remaining, but there is a relief of the discombobulation today, possibly masked by Mars.

The Birthcard of the day is Seven of Clubs, the melancholy genius, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core. See the mythology of Prometheus for a look into this character.

Oct 14 2008 Full Moon

As Moon pulls away from square Jupiter in the morning, we head to Full Moon along with Moon sextile Neptune a bit after noon PST. Sensitivity along with idealism would be likely flavors for the day. Some instability thrown in by the current Solar Storm along with the Full Moon. Have fun, but be good.

The Birthcard of today is the Eight of Clubs, power in knowledge, a Mars expression of a Neptune core. The mythology of Psyche is perfect for today.

Oct 13 2008 Almost Full Moon

At Dawn, we will be feeling Moon in Aries opposite Mercury, exact by noon. Afternoon, Moon will be in the orb of square Jupiter, exact by midnight. A good morning to realize emotions are emotions as distinct from thoughts and rationale, no matter how real they feel. Beware of prejudice --- later in the day the mood will likely shift to more jovial, magnanimous, with the only risk being generosity being interpreted as condescending.

The Birthcard for today is the Nine of Clubs, a Venus expression of a Saturn core. The Norse mythology of Freyja is worth a look today.

Oct 12 2008 Under a mixed Moon

While you were sleeping or partying, Moon passed opposite Saturn, and is conjunct Uranus at Dawn. Also, she will be trine Venus, exact at 11:30am PST. We will also be noticing a Moon square Pluto throughout the day, exact by 10pm PST, at which time Moon goes Void of Course till midnight. Likely mixed messages today, feeling good, affectionate from Venus, isolated, lonely from Saturn, and impulsive from Uranus. Apologies for the last post, sketchy on details. Two addendums or addendi: Likely a bit of lonely feeling in the afternoon yesterday taking over form the good vibes earlier. And, for a wonderful, lucid, detailed exposition on the current Renaissance do read Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas. It's just starting, and will last for a while...

The Birthcard for today is the Ten of Clubs, the teacher, a Solar expression of a Mars core, but that is flexible. The mythology of Amon-Ra would be instructional today.

Oct 11 2008

In the morning, the one and only Moon in Pisces is moving past trine Mars. By noon, we will be feeling Moon sextile Jupiter (exact by 8pm PST) and sextile Vesta also known as a minor grand trine. In a phrase, inner passion with outer conviction for the morning. The rest of the day is likely to have a congenial flavor, good for sociable activities, meshing well with groups, particularly with familiar faces. On a much longer timescale, we are experiencing a once every 500 years of so configuration that heralded the Renaissance, so if you are noticing a bit of chaos, realize that there will likely be the transmogrification of old structures, with new ideas and ideals. That is the good news. The bad news is that old structures, the establishment, has a history of quashing any new memes in defense of it's limited perception of itself, an "immune system response". Or, analogous to the Butterfly: the worm host attacks it's new imaginal cells because it cannot imagine butterfly, yet butterfly is what it is destined to become, provided there is a sufficiently healthy environment. Besides Gondolier, Painter, Sculptor, or Artist of any kind, new careers useful for the Renaissance would involve creative, unbounded thinking --- activism. There are whole worlds to rediscover that have been right under our noses the whole time.

The Birthcard of the day is the Jack of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Venus core. The mythology of Eris may be insightful today.

Oct 10 2008 Depth and Mystery

At Dawn, the one and only Moon is conjunct Neptune, with a residual of square Venus. Do you remember your dreams? By mid Morning, she is sextile Juno. Supported by Venus and Juno, we might experience nurturing themes about connection and relations to offset the potentially nebulous and confusing messages from Neptune. By noon, we will be feeling Moon sextile Pluto, passing through Moon Void of Course from 4pm PST till 6:30pm PST when it will be exact. The flavor will be one of depth and desire to uncover mysteries, superficiality won't do.

The Birthcard of the day is the intuitive Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core. Have a look at the mythology of Horus (no introduction needed) today.

Oct 9 2008 Complex Moon

At Dawn, the Moon is trine Mercury and square Vesta, possibly a sentimental morning---good time for a balance between verbalizing feelings and listening. By around noon entering the orb of Moon conjunct Chiron (exact by 4pm PST), trine Sun (exact by 6pm PST), and square Venus (exact by 10pm PST). By late afternoon, Moon is in the orb of conjunct Neptune (exact by 2am PST). Another night for dreams, with the veil between realms thinner than usual. Possible flavors of the afternoon are vulnerable/smothered from Chiron; vitality, harmony, good flow from Sun; sociable and more sentimental from Venus. After Dusk, this may morph towards empathy, but with fuzzier verbal communications. You may feel/sense things, but dunno what exactly. Delusions may sneak in, so do avoid self medication. There is a risk of relational stress from mis-understanding---Expressive Art of any kind is a good medium for expression tonight.

The Birthcard of today is the King of Clubs, a double Uranus. The mythology of Anansi (Africa) might add insight into this trickster.

Oct 8 2008 Moon the grouch

After the Moon moves past void of course by 9am PST, the primary world transit is Moon square Mars, exact a bit after 3pm PST. There would be a chance of being in touch with one's inner grouch. For feelings of touchiness, annoyance---it would be good to find ways to healthily blow off steam about the small stuff while not having the egocentric small stuff distract from real issues.

The Birthcard of today is the Ace of Diamonds, a Jupiter implementation of a Neptune core. The mythology of Obatala would be insightful today.

Oct 7 2008 Half way to the Full Moon

While moving out of the orb last night's conjunct Jupiter and square Sun/Mercury, Moon is trine Saturn just past Dawn and heading to sextile Uranus (exact by noon PST). Shortly after that, Moon goes Void of Course till 9 tomorrow morning. There is likely a paradox today---the tendency towards control: sober, "realistic" feelings and views contrasted with restlessness, the desire for excitement.

Today's Birthcard is the Two of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Saturn core. In honor of Moon Void of Course, we will take a break from a specific mythology. Visualize a fusion of Ares and Chronos, or War and Time, or "go juice" and structure.

Oct 6 2008

As the one and only Moon in Capricorn pulls away from conjunct Pluto with a remainder of Moon sextile Mars, likely a bit of remainder of the deep feelings, now tempered with better communication and action about them---less unfathomable. How were your dreams? By mid afternoon, Moon is in the orb of conjunct Jupiter; and square Sun and Mercury, exact by 11pm PST. As Mercury (still in retrograde) is conjunct Sun today, likely lots of communication happening, clear intellect, but with the crossed wires of retrograde. There may be mixed tendencies later in the day: emotions in flux tending to overshadow the rational mind; creative energy if in the flow or irritable if not; feeling generous and confident above minor irritations. Generally, feeling heart will take precedence over thinking with the head, but the head may not like that.

The Birthcard of the day is the Three of Diamonds, a Mercury expression of a Uranus core. The restless philosopher or activist. Have a look at the mythology of Quetzalcoatl if you are so inclined.

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Oct 5 2008

Around Dawn, Moon is conjunct Juno and sextile Neptune. Through the day, she is entering the orb of conjunct Pluto, exact around 5pm PST. Moon goes Void of course exiting Sagittarius between 6pm and 9 pm PST. Morning tendencies might be sensitive, hypersensitive with a nurturing touch, impressions from beyond the now thinner veil. Deep, intense to the point of overwhelming feelings and emotions are likely later in the day---Moon/Pluto is the "therapist's" transit. They may or may not be fathomable. Fortunately, bringing a bit of stability, anchoring to the tendency to self analysis today is:

The Birthcard of the day is the Four of Diamonds, a Neptune implementation of a Venus core, also known as the foundation in/of values Card. See the mythology of Baldur (Norse).
