Apr 30 2009 Moon Void of Course

In honor of Mercury Retrograde approaching, it would be a good time to remind you to not believe everything you read including this. Do have a look at multiple sources. We will be adding blog links on the left under bloggerific; do have a look at what they have to say; the more the merrier. There will likely be nuances, insights, interpretations we miss that others catch and conversely, we may provide that special "aha moment" for you at times. Do remember that Archetypal Languages are way-stations on a journey, not the destination of a journey. Magic happens, good things happen when they are used, played with and worked with as entry points or stepping stones, peeling back layers of illusion, opening up to more and more layers and levels of awareness and illumination.

Mercury has been in the orb of sextile Uranus, and is also in the orb of sextile Venus. The Grand trine/kite of Sun/Saturn/Lilith Moon with Juno remains. See prior posts. Moon finishes up in Cancer trine Uranus exact at 9:45 am PDT when she goes Moon Void of Course till 5:56 pm PDT. Then, Moon enters Leo where Moon will be sextile Mercury exact at 6:02 pm PDT and trine Venus exact at 10:00 pm PDT. In the evening Moon will be close to the south node. Middle of the day through late afternoon may have a lack of mojo, just chill is the mantra. Morning and evening are generally favorable transits, excitement in the morning and sociability in the evening; however, there may be a tinge of fixation, rigidity in the face of any uncertainty.

The Birthcard today is the Four of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core, with a Five of Clubs inside and a Six of Hearts outside. Spike Jones, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sophia Loren, Tori Amos, and John-David all share this Birthcard.

Apr 29 2009

Moon at home in Cancer is Sextile Sun exact at 7:16 am PDT, trine Juno exact at 7:39 am PDT, and sextile Saturn exact at 4:54 pm PDT. Speaking of, there is an interesting grand trine over the next week (grand kite today with Moon) as Sun moves into the orb of trine Saturn: Sun/Satrun/Lilith Moon. There is plenty of mythology about virtual point Lilith Moon, it is the other centroid of the ellipse that describes Moon's orbit around Earth, but basically Lilith Moon represents our relationship to/with the absolute, surrender into the Infinite. Sun trine Saturn represents opportunity to evaluate relation(s) with one's environment, Lilith Moon in the grand trine adds the cosmos to the equation; and the Moon making a grand kite today will likely add stimulation to one's thoughts and feelings along those lines. Good time to look at Ecology, the Environment and our integral involvement in/with it, Panspermia, Lagrange Paths, Poincare Tubes, way out stuff like that. Otherwise, Venus/Mars is still square Pluto, and today is the first stiction day of Mercury Retrograde, so doublecheck the dot on the i and the cross on the t.

The Birthcard of the day is the Five of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Saturn core, with a Five of Hearts inside and a Four of Clubs outside. Rene Descartes, Beverly D'Angelo, Ziggy Marley, Arthur Miller, Evel Knievel, Kenny Rogers, and Al Gore are incarnational examples of this restless and inquisitive Birthcard.

Apr 28 2009

Clusters: although we usually delineate specific transits, groupings are more than the separate transits. Pluto square the Mars/Venus conjunct has a flavor all unto itself, and when Moon sweeps any of these in transit, it is emphasizing the group, rather than one at a time. Likewise, even though Mars has moved past exact square Pluto, we still feel the combined effect of the Mars/Venus conjunct in square with Pluto. Maybe speed bumps is a sufficient metaphor: Venus will be exact square Pluto in a few days.

This morning Moon will be finishing up in Gemini trine Jupiter exact at 5:01 am PDT, square Uranus exact at 7:23 am PDT, trine Chiron exact at 8:31 am PDT, trine Neptune exact at 9:23 am PDT. Then, Moon Void of Course till 3:38 pm PDT when Moon enters Home, Cancer. Moon will be square Venus exact at 6:07 pm PDT, opposite Pluto exact at 8:51 pm PDT, and square Mars around midnight. As above, the morning is likely to feel a bit of creative, imaginative excitement, possibly over something that has been developing for years. Mid-day and early afternoon, just chill. Evening may find partners passionately drawn, but questioning why they are together, almost asking "is this relationship good for the relationship".

The Birthcard today is the Six of Clubs, a Neptune implementation of a Saturn core, with an Eight of Spades inside and a Two of Diamonds outside---either the policeman or the psychic. Vincent Van Gogh, Yanni (!), Condoleezza Rice (!!), Tim Robbins, Jessica Alba, Ron Paul, Hunter S. Thompson, and John Glenn are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Apr 27 2009

Moon in Gemini passed conjunct Vesta overnight, and will be square Saturn exact at 3:11 pm PDT. There may be a flavor of melancholy, even fleeting depression, however there may also be flashes of brilliant insight. See prior posts for details about Mars/Venus square Pluto, and Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron.

Today's Birthcard is the Seven of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core, with an Eight of Diamonds inside and a Jack of Spades outside. Bill Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg, Sam Walton, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Ogden Nash, and Robin Williams all share this Birthcard.

Apr 26 2009

Overnight and early morning Moon finishes up in Taurus sweeping sextile Uranus, square Chiron, square Neptune, then conjunct Mercury exact at 8:42 am PDT, before going Moon Void of Course till 2:02 pm PDT when she enters Gemini. Later Moon will be sextile Venus exact at 3:16 pm PDT and sextile Mars exact at 7:51 pm PDT. Within this Moon Kaleidoscpe day rippling/sweeping across and emphasizing transits there may be a tendency to be a bit rigid, unbending in response to multiple stimulii. See prior posts and linked blogs about he Mercury/Neptune square and the Venus/Mars conjunct squaring Pluto. Morning may feel a bit restless or adventurous, midmorning and lunch may lack mojo; and afternoon and evening may have a harmonious respite from any lovers' tension, which may be back tomorrow.

The Birthcard today is the powerful Eight of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Neptune core, one of the three source cards that is the same inside as outside, WYSIWYG. Thomas Dolby, Priscilla Presley, Edmund Muskie, Hank Paulson, Timothy Geithner, Austan Goolsbee, Gary Wright, and Meryl Streep are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Apr 25 2009

The Venus/Mars conjunction has been inching away from the eclectic influence of Uranus (keep your puns to yourself on that one), and is now in the orb of square Pluto. Those involved intimately may have noticed a subtle but significant shift from eclectic to just connected, to a bit of an edge over the last week or so. While Venus/Mars is the lovers transit, particularly conjunct, sextile and trine; Pluto/Mars is the fighter/jock transit, and Venus/Pluto can cause unrest within or desire for a new "fantasy" relationship. The phrases "...we need to talk about our future..." or "...I'm not getting my needs met here..." may be conversation, or long drawn out conversation openers over the next week or so.

There may be a touch of longing for completion through beauty and connection, that Artist's call in the ethers. Moon in Taurus was sextile Juno overnight, and will be trine Saturn exact at 1:35 pm PDT. That points to stable emotions (at least for today!) , reviewing the past. Tomorrow looks to be a kaleidoscope Moon day, so enjoy the relative simplicity today.

The Birthcard today is the 9 of Clubs, a Venus expression of a Saturn core with a Queen of Hearts inside and a 6 of Diamonds outside. 9Cs include Ken Wilber whether he likes it or not, Tony Robbins, Albert King, Zane Grey, Ella Fitzgerald, Lindz Lawlor who does like it, Valerie Innes who usually likes it, Artie Shaw, Quentin Tarantino, and Jean-Paul Sartre.

Apr 24 2009 New Moon

Moon finished up in Aries sweeping sextile Chiron and Neptune before going Moon Void of Course from 5:12 am PDT till 11:46 am PDT. As is with Moon Void of Course mornings, you may feel the need for an extra kick-start, but watch out---by lunchtime, the caffiene will kick in more strongly than expected when Moon enters Taurus at 11:46 am PDT. Moon is trine Pluto exact at 5:12 pm PDT, and of course conjunct Sun, exact at 8:23 pm PDT. Besides things having been winding down towards New Moon, if you are feeling a bit fuzzy headed, Mercury is square Pluto; not the best for clarity, but great for sensitivity and imagination. Coupled with Moon trine Pluto, add depth to the equation. Mars and Venus are still conjunct, so enjoy any juiciness that brings.

Only 5 shopping days left till the first stiction day of Mercury Retrograde on the 29th.

The Birthcard today is the 10 of Clubs, a Solar expression of a Mars core and some flexibility to experience a Venus or Mercury core with a Jack of Spades inside and a 4 of Spades outside. 10Cs include Phil Collins, Jack Abramoff, Paul Krugman, Steven Chu, Leonard Nimoy, Richard Dawkins, Erica Jong, Barbra Streisand, Joseph Campbell, and Shirley MacLaine.

Apr 23 2009

Moon in Aries is taking a breather today, sextile Jupiter later in the day, exact at 11:45 pm PDT. That would make for a pleasant evening. Venus and Mars are still conjunct (the lovers' transit), but are moving away from the eclectic influence of Uranus. See prior posts about Sun trine Pluto and the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio.

Heads up: Mercury retrograde is approaching. Comes in waves. First stiction day is Apr 29th, actual retrograde begins May 6th.

The Birthcard today is the Jack of Clubs, a Uranus expression of a Venus core, with a Jack of Diamonds inside and a 10 of Hearts outside. JCs include Rahm Emanuel, Ralph Nader, Oprah, Susie Bright, Howard Cosell, Jim Fixx, and Paula Abdul, whether they know it or not.

Apr 22 2009

Although every day is Earth Day, this is the anniversary. Moon gives an extra kick to the lover's transit (Venus conjunct Mars) around Dawn, finishing up in Pisces conjunct Venus exact at 6:29 am PDT, then brief Moon Void of Course till 7:09 am PDT when Moon enters Aries exact conjunct Mars. Moon will be square Pluto exact at 12:56 pm PDT. By afternoon, there may be a shift from basking in the afterglow to obsessive, jealous feelings, but these are a time to really go within and deal with insecurities, as is with any Moon/Pluto combination. Sun trine Pluto will likely enhance one's gravitas to withstand such a foray. Remember, of course, to be good to each other.

Regarding Birthcards: the book "What's Your Card" by the late Arne Lein, when found, is a treasure. If you ever see one at a garage sale, grab it, and share it. Unfortunately, his estate is of the fundamentalist mentality and is sitting on the copyrights, refusing to allow reprints. For instance, his description of the Birthcard of Susan Boyle (not today's but included here as she is current and "newsworthy"; besides she has substance and is a poke in the face to the image industry) includes words/phrases such as "...independent, strong-willed sensitivity, music, spotlight, lonliness may be necessary for personal growth, it may take some time for you to get your act together, money and fame...". Granted, our inner sceptic might say, oh how generic, to which we would respond: it's how the combination of flavors is described that floors us and many when studying the Cards.

The Birthcard today is the Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core, with a 3 of Hearts inside and a 10 of Diamonds outside. QCs include Michael Bolton, Robert Novak, Nikolai Lenin, Debra Gangale, Arthur Laffer, Aaron Spelling, Cher, Nicolas Sarkozy, and Sir Paul McCartney.

Apr 21 2009

Moon in Pisces was opposite Saturn at 4:23 am PDT, will be sextile Mercury exact at 3:25 pm PDT, and conjunct Uranus exact at 9:38 pm PDT. If you feel dark and lonely, disconnected this morning, let it pass. It will. Communication could open up by afternoon, and be maybe a little too exciting or surprising, eccentric by the evening. Mercury is squaring the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio, Sun is trine Pluto, and today is the lover's day: Venus is exact conjunct Mars, still within range of Uranus for a bit of electricity. Emotions may be a more successful conduit of communication today than words alone.

The Birthcard today is the King of Clubs, a double Uranus with a 2 of Spades inside and an 8 of Spades outside. KCs include Keith Olbermann, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Chaka Khan, Pierre Simon Laplace, Ric Ocasek, Barry Manilow, Gary Stadler, Jesse Ventura, and James "J Bob Dobbs" Dobson.

Apr 20 2009

Moon in Pisces is sextile Pluto exact at 5:10 am PDT, square Vesta exact at 7:14 am PDT and conjunct Juno exact at 10:57 am PDT. Mysteries, taboos, and the understanding/resolution of such are likely to fascinate. Deep rooted feelings are likely to surface this morning, particularly in relation with another. We need to talk about our future may be a way of just saying of hello today. Sun is in the orb of trine Pluto through the end of the month, so there may be some assertion behind such conversations. See prior posts about the Venus/Mars/Uranus and Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune triple conjuncts.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Neptune core, with a 2 of Diamonds inside and an Ace of Hearts outside. ADs include Marcel Marceau, George Soros, Angela Davis, Ray Conniff, Paul Hogan, William Shatner, Dennis Kucinich, and Gerald R. Ford.

Apr 19 2009 Sun enters Taurus

Already? No bull. Jupiter joins the long lasting Chiron/Neptune conjunction to make a triple for the next few months. Jupiter/Neptune is associated with altruism, compassion on the upside and polyanna on the downside, so the mix with Chiron will likely be "for the children" as we see ourselves in the trials and tribulations of growth pains. Today, Moon finishing up in Aquarius emphasizes them, all of the above with feeling, sweeping past conjunct Jupiter exact at 7:53 am PDT, conjunct Chiron exact at 1:56 pm PDT and conjunct Neptune exact at 3:16 pm PDT when she goes Moon Void of Course till 10:55 pm PDT. Moon enters Pisces, her home away from home at 10:55 pm PDT, and is sextile Sun exact at 11:32 pm PDT. A good evening for an Arthouse Flick, and a good evening for, er, relations. Venus/Mars/Uranus are still clustered, and combined with the relative ease of Moon sextile Sun, enjoy.

The Birthcard for today is the 2 of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Saturn core with a 6 of Clubs inside and an Ace of Diamonds outside. 2Ds include Corazon Aquino, Viktor Yushchenko, Modest Mussorgsky, Rosie O'Donnell, Dudley Moore, Johannes Gutenberg, Ole Evinrude, Trent Reznor, and Howard Jones.

Apr 18 2009

Moon in Aquarius is taking a breather this morning, moving into the orb of square Mercury in the afternoon, exact at 10:25 pm PDT. The flavor associated with this has a bit of an edge, seeking but not always finding resolution between intellect and feeling. But, there should be more harmony in the air as Venus is now direct. Other longer term transits are in prior posts. Enjoy harmony now, as in about a week Venus and Mars will be square Pluto; these represent a deep seated lover/fighter quandary.

The Birthcard today is the 3 of Diamonds, a Mercury expression of a Uranus core, with a 6 of Hearts inside and a Queen of Diamonds outside. 3Ds include John Belushi, Neil Diamond, Oral (!) Roberts, Drew Barrymore, Edward Kennedy, Fred Rogers, Rick Moranis, and Pierce Brosnan.

Apr 18 2009 Moon Last Quarter

Moon square Sun exact at 6:36 am PDT. Moon finishing up in Capricorn will be conjunct the north node adding a sense of being in place, being comfortable in one's skin. Moon was/will sweep sextile the Mars/Venus/Uranus trio, passing exact sextile Mars and Uranus overnight, and exact sextile Venus at 9:42 am PDT when she goes for a brief Moon Void of Course till 11:19 am PDT. At 11:19 am PDT, Moon enters Aquarius. Likely harmonious passion between the (preferred) sexes this morning, a bit of limbo before lunch, then Venus goes direct and...lovers that were at odds may feel a bit more synchronous. Make use of the reserved practicality of Mercury trine Saturn to heal those upsets that were experienced during Venus retrograde during the last Month or so.

The Birthcard today is the 4 of Diamonds, a Neptune expression of a Venus core, with a 5 of Spades inside and a 5 of Hearts outside. 4D incarnations include Antonio Villaraigosa, Jake Steinfeld, David Geffen, Richard Tarnas, Ornette Coleman, Brian Eno, William Butler Yeats, and James Clerk Maxwell.

Apr 16 2009

There is a grand trine this morning: Mercury/Moon/Saturn, likely flavor of harmony between feelings, intellect, and responsibilities. Moon in Capricorn was trine Mercury overnight, and will be trine Saturn exact at 6:17 am PDT. After Moon moves on by this afternoon, the effects of Mercury trine Saturn will linger a few days, which may be experienced as a somewhat reserved practicality. This may offset the wild, juicy side of the Mars/Venus/Uranus trio conjunct, but after a few days, look out again. In a good way, that is. Similar to yesterday: a Moon transit in the morning without any others throughout the day, so the aftertaste will linger longer.

The Birthcard today is the 5 of Diamonds, a Saturn implementation of a Neptune core, with a 9 of Diamonds inside and a 3 of Clubs outside. 5D incarnations include Neil Bush, Sam Cooke, Grover Cleveland, Patty Hearst, Ivana Trump, Peter Graves, Dusty Springfield, Edgar Cayce, and Herbie Mann.

Apr 15 2009

Sun is sextile Neptune and Chiron, see last post on that. The Mars/Venus/Uranus trio conjunction is still happening, adding a juicy flavor to things. Moon in Capricorn was conjunct Pluto exact at 5:03 am PDT and will be sextile Juno exact at 7:01 am PDT. Likely flavors added to the mix are deep, intense feelings, possibly overwhelming in context of the sheer size of the Universe and our seemingly small or insignificant role in it. Which it really isn't, but seems that way, at least till dusk today. A good day for inner self reflection.

The Birthcard today is the 6 of Diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Mercury core, with a 9 of Clubs inside and a 3 of Spades outside. 6Ds include Geena Davis, Paul Allen, Seal, Rudolf Nureyev, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Tom Hanks, Raquel Welch, and Freddie Mercury.

Apr 14 2009

Mercury has moved away from trine Pluto while Juno is sextile Pluto; and the Mars/Venus/Uranus conjunct is tightening up. Feel the, er, electricity in the air and elsewhere? Jupiter is in the orb of joining the long lasting Chiron/Neptune conjunct. Sun is sextile the Neptune/Chiron conjunct, so there is likely a nudge of spiritual idealism, sensitivity to and compassion for others through the end of the week. Today will be a Moon kaleidoscope day, all bets are off. Moon finishing up in Sagittarius was sextile Jupiter exact at 5:21 am PDT, will be square Mars exact at 10:11 am PDT, square Uranus exact at 11:12 am PDT, Sextile Chiron exact at 12:43 pm PDT, sextile Neptune exact at 2:19 pm PDT, and square Venus exact at 9:07 pm PDT when she goes for a brief Moon Void of Course. At 10:27 pm PDT, Moon enters Capricorn. Again, this is one of those days where Moon is sweeping across more heavenly bodies than Mikhail Baryshnikov ever did, and the flavor really depends on what is being emphasized in your natal/birth chart, more so than usual. There are both perturbing and harmonizing aspects of the Moon sweep today.

The Birthcard of the day is the 7 of Diamonds, a double Venus with a "veiled" double Saturn inside and outside. 7D incarnations include George Carlin, Matt Dillon, Yoko Ono, Pat Nixon, Henny Youngman, Julie Christie, Paul Begala, F. Lee Bailey, James Madison, and George Burns.

Monday, April 13, 2009

Apr 13 2009

Moon in Sagittaurus will be square Saturn exact at 6:04 pm PDT today. To the longer term flavors described in prior posts add the Lunar/Saturn seasonings of melancholy, possible trouble communicating emotionally. A mild, temporary dose of Marvin. Such heavy sensations will pass.

The Birthcard today is the 8 of Diamonds, a crown card with a Jupiter core, with a Queen of Spades inside and a 7 of Clubs outside. 8Ds include Paris Hilton, Dolly Parton, Fabio Lanzoni, Al Green, Sly Stone, Thomas Jefferson, Martha Quinn, and Jim Jeffords, and Andrew Jackson.

Apr 12 2009

May the Easter Platypus bring you eggs and other symbols of spring fertility. Easter and Astrology, an odd couple, but here you are today. The Moon finishes up in Scorpio with a nice trine of Venus exact at 10:28 am PDT when she briefly goes Moon Void of Course till 11:01 am PDT at which time she enters Sagittarius. Moon will be opposite Vesta exact at 1:15 pm PDT and square Juno exact at 5:18 pm PDT. The Venus/Mars/Uranus trio conjunction is moving closer together, and the Juno/Pluto sextile remains; along with the long term Chiron/Neptune conjunction. See prior posts for descriptions of these flavors. After starting off the day with lots of warm fuzzies via the trine with Venus, the Moon transits may bring out family tensions emphasizing the Juno/Vesta square (perfect timing for Easter Brunches), but with support to feel into and through them as Moon will be sextile/trine the north/south node axis. The potential is there for passionate kiss and make up encounters following family fueled disputes, if you are not too stuffed from brunch/dinner and leftovers; otherwise you may fall asleep beforehand rather than afterwards.

The Birthcard today is the 9 of Diamonds, a Uranus implementation of a Mars core, with a Queen of Diamonds inside and a 5 of Diamonds outside. 9Ds include Barack Obama, Ray Dolby, Cleveland Amory, Tom Clancy, Sylvester Stallone, Dubya, and Francis Crick.

April 11 2009

Things as they are called; meaning events, actions, happenstance, vibes --- should all be distinctly more harmonious than the last couple weeks. Moon in Scorpio will be sextile Saturn exact at 8:08 am PDT, square Jupiter exact at 5:51 pm PDT, trine Mars exact at 7:21 pm PDT, and trine Uranus at midnight. Overnight Moon will be square Chiron and Neptune, so avoid any firewater binge tonight at least. See the last few posts for non Lunar transits. There may be a flavor of introspection this morning, but not of the isolating variety, and generally a good feeling throughout the day. Possibly a seemingly quick shift from good vibes, getting things done to a bit sensitive/touchy later in the evening. That too will pass.

The Birthcard of today is the 10 of Diamonds, a double Jupiter, with a Queen of Clubs inside and a Queen of Spades outside. P. T. Barnum, Martha Stewart, Gloria Estefan, Phil McGraw, Zooey Deschanel, Andy Kaufman, Douglas Hofstadter, and Sammy Kaye are all examples of the 10 of Diamonds incarnate.

Friday, April 10, 2009

Apr 10 2009

Sun is exact sextile Jupiter today. Good feeling(s) from that pair. Mercury is trine Pluto, while Juno is midpoint sextile both Mercury and Pluto. Moon in Scorpio will be emphasising this half-grand trine; was opposite Mercury exact at 5:51 am PDT, will be trine Juno exact at 6:34 am PDT, and sextile Pluto exact at 8:27 am PDT. Serious and profound in the context of commitments/relations with followthrough or a touch of obsessiveness. Also a couple of trios: Mars/Venus/Uranus as described last post and Jupiter is is in the orb joining the Chiron/Neptune conjunction, headed for exact towards the end of May setting the stage for the callings of philosophy, philanthropy, with the risk of idealized grandeur or false happiness.

The Birthcard of the day is the Jack of Diamonds, a Uranus implementation of a Neptune core, with a 3 of Spades inside and a Jack of Clubs outside. Rube Goldberg,
Mojo Nixon, Samuel Hahnemann, Ann Landers, Abigail Van Buren, Kirk Kerkorian, Keith Jarrett, Max Von Sydow, Joseph Pulitzer, Louis Armstrong and the USA were/are all JD. Diamonds, not Daniels.

Apr 9 2009 Full Moon

Mars is moving past the critical irritation zone opposite Saturn and into a new adventure: as Venus retrogrades; Mars, Venus, and Uranus will converge soon; while Mars and Venus will stay conjunct a bit longer, through the end of the month. This trio is rare, once every 20 or 30 years and represents, in plain english: sex, and not just the plain Vanilla variety. Vanilla/Amber/Coconut/Pachouli at least. On a bed of Rose petals. Mars/Venus conjunct may have to sort out the distinction between love and lust, and Uranus added to the mix is electric/eclectic, living juicy, a bit bawdy, playful. Through the end of April at least. Afterwards, you are on your own in that department. Today, there is a Full Moon in Libra exact at 7:56 am PDT. If you were up all night, that would explain it. Moon will be trine Jupiter exact at 9:20 am PDT, trine Chiron exact at 5:08 pm PDT and trine Neptune exact at 6:46 pm PDT when Moon goes Void of Course till the middle of the night. At 2:23 am PDT tomorrow, Moon enters Scorpio. The flavors today are generally good, an intense, but pleasurable morning and relative ease with creativity in the afternoon, along with it being a good time for imaginative solutions to issues/callings that have lingered since childhood. Don't expect any followthrough this evening, it will lack mojo, and be a good time for review or just chilling. Watch a good Arthouse flick.

The Birthcard today is the Queen of Diamonds, a Saturn implementation of a Mercury core, with a 3 of Diamonds inside and a 9 of Diamonds outside. Captain Beefheart, Lloyd Bridges, Hugh Hefner, Jerry Zucker, Aristotle Onassis share this Birthcard, along with Edward Teller, Antonin Scalia, and Rupert Murdoch.

Apr 8 2009

Moon in Libra passed square Pluto in the middle of the night, and will be trine/sextile the north/south node axis for the first half of the day, adding a likelihood of deep, revealing dreams and a general feeling of being in place or comfortable in one's skin. Otherwise, she is not transiting any heavenly bodies till tomorrow morning's Full Moon. Have a look at prior posts for longer term flavors. There is likely building intensity for imminent Full Moon. Tonight would be a good night to practice howling at the Moon.

The Birthcard today is the King of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Venus core with a 3 of Clubs inside and a 7 of Spades outside.
KDs include Charles Darwin, Faye Dunaway, Sharon Stone, Christina Ricci, Ray Manzarek, Seymour Hersh, Harriet Tubman, and Vicente Fox.

Apr 7 2009

Mercury is sextile Neptune and Juno is sextile Pluto. Now that Moon in Virgo has swept past the final push of the Mars/Saturn oposition, we may be feeling more harmony. The next couple of days will be good for dreams, imagination, but not the best for actually doing something about them, the paradox of concrete abstractions. Through the end of April, there will likely be a nudge towards depth in relationship, but in a constructive manner, except when the Moon is hard transiting Mars or Saturn. Today, Moon will be opposite Uranus, adding a bit of excitability, impulsiveness to the mix, exact at 9:52 am PDT when traditionally Moon Void of Course starts, but Moon will be trine Vesta exact at 7:01 pm PDT when I claim Moon goes Void of Course till 8:22 pm PDT; then Moon enters Libra in search of balance and esthetics. Moon will be opposite Venus exact at 10:15 pm PDT, adding a dose of warm fuzzies to the mix.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Spades, a Mercury expression of a Neptune core, with a 7 of Hearts inside and 2 of Clubs outside. Stan Grof, Dan Aykroyd, Sydney Pollack, Chuck Barris, Ravi Shankar, Yuri Gagarin, Daniel Ellsberg, and Jennifer Aniston are a cast of characters who share this Birthcard, and at least one of them knows it.

Apr 6 2009

We are going through a challenging set of transits, apologies if the posts have seemed a bit dreary lately. Today, Moon will be emphasizing the Mars/Saturn opposition, which is fortunately just beyond exact, so again be good to yourself and others. Moon will be conjunct Saturn exact at 8:11 pm PDT and opposite Mars exact at 11:27 pm PDT. Moon/Saturn brings isolation, remote feelings, "I'm not getting what I need from this..." while Moon/Mars brings discord, irritation, arguments. Mars/Saturn is more bitter than an Arugula salad, and less nutritious. With Pluto in retrograde adding an extra kick to anything underworldly, ie supressed feelings, do wear your seatbelts today. Do refrain if possible making any decisions or choices that you may regret later.

The Birthcard today is the 2 of Spades, a Neptune implementation of a Mars core, with a 6 of Spades inside and a King of Clubs outside. 2Ss include Jeff Bezos, Howard Stern, Heather Mills, Melanie Chrisholm, Alex Comfort, Gary Numan, and Marilu Henner.

Apr 5 2009

Moon is finishing up in Leo opposite Neptune exact at 8:39 am PDT and square Vesta exact at 1:09 pm PDT then she goes Moon Void of Course till 4:01 pm PDT when Moon enters Virgo. Traditionally, Moon VOC would start today earlier at 8:39 am PDT, but that is ignoring Vesta, and if you were Vesta, how would it feel to be discovered, Archetypally understood, but ignored? If you are being extra cautious, or just feeling paranoid which is a distinct possibility this morning, don't start anything new till after 4 this afternoon. It would be a good siesta Sunday, under the Palms. Mars is just past exact opposite Saturn, and Venus is past square Pluto, so some pressure has lifted, but this morning may have a bit of hypersensitivity. Definitely do not "drink" before noon today. Later in the day, there may dissatisfaction with superficiality and more desire to dig into the depths as Moon is trine Pluto exact at 9:43 pm PDT.

The Birthcard today is the 3 of Spades, a Saturn implementation of a Jupiter core, with a 6 of Diamonds inside and a Jack of Diamonds outside. 3Ss include a creative mix of characters: Alexander Hamilton, Arthur Hailey, Wilhelm Maybach, Alice Walker, Jim Webb, Lee Ritenour, Naomi Judd, Bette Davis, James Brown, Reverend Ike, and Marilyn Monroe

Apr 4 2009

Remember Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Remember what is on the cover of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Pluto goes retrograde today, meaning Pluto will be more Pluto than usual through Sept this Year. Depths to be dug whether you dig it or not. Today Mars is exactly square Saturn, so watch out for tempers, frustrations --- the pissed off plumber syndrome. Venus has just passed exact square Pluto lifting some pressure off stressed relationships. Mercury is sextile Jupiter, adding a sense of holistic/wholism, intellectual curiosity, broader perspectives, looking to the bigger picture. Too bad that one only lasts a few more days. Moon in Leo is trine Sun exact at 2:38 pm PDT and opposite Jupiter exact at 10:35 pm PDT. Some ease between feelings and ego, harmony between the (preferred) sexes; but possibly a vague sense of unrest, wanting to be free of any ties. Again, be good to yourself and others.

The Birthcard of the day is the 4 of Spades, a Jupiter expression of a Venus core, with a 10 of Clubs inside and a 4 of Hearts outside. 4Ss amongst us in body and memory include Rod Stewart, Jim Croce, Maya Angelou, Hugh Masakela, Nick Nolte, James Dean, Alan Greenspan, and Ivan Boesky.

Apr 3 2009

This would be one of those mornings where there is a lack of mojo, you may desire to stay in bed just a little bit longer--- Moon is Void of Course till noon-thirty PDT today. Consuming extra caffeine will not quite hit the spot, and after noon when Moon enters Leo it will hit with an extra kick. With Mars opposite Saturn and Venus square Pluto (see prior posts), Moon trine Venus exact at 5:38 pm PDT has potential to make for a better evening. Potential. The morning may be kind of blah or bleh, but after lunch things will pick up. But there may be a tinge of a vague sense of discomfort, ill at ease, restlessness, dis-satasfaction. Be good to yourself and others.

The Birthcard today is the 5 of Spades, a Venus expression of a Mars core with a 10 of Hearts inside and a 4 of Diamonds outside.
Sinclair Lewis, Jane Goodall, Jimmy Page, Eddie Izzard, Emo Philips, Rex Harrison, and Eddie Murphy are quite a cast of characters sharing this Birthcard.

Apr 2 2009 Moon First Quarter

While Venus in retrograde is square with Pluto; and Mars is closing opposite Saturn, our friend the Moon in Cancer will be mellowing things out a bit by being trine/sextile the Mars/Saturn opposition. Only a bit, though. Moon will be square Sun exact at 7:34 am PDT, trine Mars exact at 10:12 am PDT, square Mercury exact at 12:46 pm PDT, and sextile Saturn exact at 1:32 pm PDT. So, while Moon trine and sextile will ease some of the pissed off plumber syndrome, Moon squares will point towards less than ideal communication of the sense of ease --- feelings may be at odds with the intellect and ego. Yesterday may have been a good time to start couples therapy, don't stop now. If you didn't, start now and stay with it. Venus will be back after retrograde in a month to the same spot, square with Pluto to assist in unearthing stuff, only Mars will be joining it then. If not now, you will likely be desirious then for that connection, whether you worked on it, stayed with it or not.

The Birthcard today is the Six of Spades, a Neptune implementation of a Uranus core, with a Nine of Spades inside and a Two of Spades outside. Incarnations expressing through this Card include
Soupy Sales, Elvis Presley, Stephen Hawking, Natalie Cole, Bob Marley, and Marvin Gaye, whether they know/knew it or not.

Apr 1 2009

With Venus square Pluto and Mars opposite Saturn, be extra careful to make nice as the phrase goes. Affect regulation is paramount if you prefer bigger words. Moon finishing up in Gemini was trine Neptune at 2:03 am PDT, the traditional time for Moon Void of Course, but this blog begs to differ, in that Moon will be trine Juno, exact at 7:18 am PDT when she does indeed go Moon Void of Course briefly till 9:30 am PDT. Then it's at home with Moon in Cancer. Ahhhh. Almost. Moon will be opposite Pluto exact at 3:06 pm PDT and square Venus exact at 4:29 pm PDT, giving an extra kick to intense, transformational experiences in relationship that are Venus transiting Pluto. Change, evolution, growth and adaptation in the context of relationship are sometimes necessitated when resisted under this transit. Let go, and let's grow would be the phrase. Or, just a good day for couples therapy --- if both are willing and able to evolve.

The Birthcard today is the mystical Seven of Spades, a Uranus implementation of a Jupiter core, with a King of Diamonds inside and an Eight of Hearts outside.
7Ss include Nicolas Cage, Kenny Loggins, Katie Couric, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Abraham Maslow, Gill Scott-Heron, Rachael Maddow, and the master of capitalism Charles Ponzi. Notice the contrast of the last two, one exposes mysteries lucidly, the other was good at keeping mysteries for a while.
