Sept 30 2009

Thirty Days hath September, all the rest, um, do you remember? Here we are on a chill day for the last day in Sept, as Moon will be Void of Course till 4:26 pm PDT when she enters Pisces, her Home away from Home. Likely a very long slow start, with the mojo picking up by dinnertime. Moon will be sextile Pluto exact at 5:55 pm PDT correlating with a desire for depth of feeling and meaning, superficiality will not do.

As sometimes happens, there are quite a tight set of clusters, giving intense, but mixed messages. Did I mention complex and intense? While being T-squared by Pluto, the Saturn/Mercury opposite Uranus/Juno axis is trine/sextile another axis: Lilith Moon / north node opposite Mars / south node. The Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio is the focal point of a YOD pattern by the sextile of Saturn/Mercury and Mars / south node. Which also means the the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio is inconjunct the Mars / south node conjunction and inconjunct the Saturn/Mercury conjunction. This is sounding worse than a sports commentator going on and on. Yada yada yada. Really, just lots of everything, and intensely: childhood traumas surfacing to be healed/integrated, upheaval being resisted by the status quo, uncertainty
, loneliness, change, hidden stuff being revealed from the depths; all with hints or teasers of harmony. As the Moon sweeps around and emphasizes specific facets of this, both in general as written here, and transiting one's Birth/Natal chart, we get variety.

The Birthcard of the day is Seven of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Mercury core, with an Eight of Hearts inside and an Ace of Spades outside. Varied incarnations of this card include Julia Roberts, Randy Newman, Francis Bacon, Jonas Salk, Rich Little, Truman Capote, Tina Turner, Howard Hughes, Ava Gardner, Bill Gates, and rumor has it Erasmus.

Sept 29 2009

Notice anything different? Mercury went direct. The collective sigh of relief should be followed by a week of so of cautious optimism as, stiction days will still be with us for the next week or so. Think of overlapping waves, and think of a slowly swinging pendulum. At the upper end of each swing it slows down before reversing direction. Likewise, the relative motion between Earth and Mercury passes through phases of forward, stiction, reverse, stiction, repeat. The stiction phases overlapping with the "actual" retrograde can in some ways be less fun and more troubling than the "pure" retrograde, but like the stillpoints of the Solstice times, one can perceive such shifts as today.

Moon in Aquarius starts off the day inconjunct Venus and opposite Vesta, but then, of course, moves on. Possibility of really needing demonstrative affection, assurance. Moon will begin a sweep conjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio in the afternoon (PDT) and continue through the night. At the same time, Moon will be inconjunct Saturn and Mercury, so it is possible that all those great insights and ideas may fumble a bit on articulation and expression. Broken record: the Pluto T-square of upheaval is still with us.

The Birthcard of the day is the emotionally powerful Eight of Hearts, a Neptune implementation of a Jupiter core, with a Seven of Spades inside and a Seven of Hearts outside. Various examples of expression of this Birthcard are Theodore Roosevelt, Susan Lucci, Robert Bly, JFK Jr, Richard Gere, Christina Applegate, Joe DiMaggio, Madeline Kahn, Itzhak Perlman, Harry Shearer, and the one and only John Cleese.

Sept 28 2009

Moon in Aquarius will be harmoniously trine The Sun today, exact at 4:13 pm PDT. Yesterday and today, the Moon has aspected in ways that likely provide some relief, offsetting the hard aspects that have been with us. The meme of universality may be around today, if the intellect is stymied, just use the feelings, communicate emotionally to preclude disappointment. The Heart has reasons that reason does not understand. With the slower moving heavenly bodies, the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio is still at the focal point of a YOD pattern from the sextile of Mercury/Saturn and Mars. It is a good time to articulate childhood stuff, to plot and plan grandiouse ideas and ideals, in spite of pressures and uncertainties that are likely still abounding. Uncertanties correlated with Mars inconjunct the Jupite/Chiron/Neptune trio, and pressure from Pluto T-square Uranus/Juno and Mercury/Saturn, otherwise known as the T-square of upheaval. Regardless, enjoy today. And tomorrow when Mercury goes direct.

The Birthcard of today is the Nine of Hearts, a double Saturn with a "veiled" double Venus. Brigitte Bardot, Ed Sullivan, Warren Buffett, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bootsy Collins, Hillary Clinton, Dale Carnigie, Cameron Diaz, Ernest Rutherford, Mira Sorvino, Leon Trotsky, Lady Bird Johnson, Moon Zappa, Scott Joplin, and Seymour Cray are different examples of this incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Sept 27 2009

Moon in Capricorn starts off the day with a bang opposite Mars exact at 7:24 am PDT, then over the rest of the day joins the north node trine Mercury, sextile Uranus, and finishes up trine Saturn and sextile Juno exact at 8:33 pm PDT. She will be Moon Void of Course from 8:33 pm PDT till 4 something PDT tomorrow morning. Are we ever annoyed when others don't respond to our charms in the way we desire? A bit punchy in the morning, the rest of the day will likely be feeling the constructive side of the T-square of upheaval (see prior posts), more grounded, feeling in place; in harmony with the changes. The later evening will likely suffer from a lack of mojo during Moon VOC.

Today's Birthcard is the Ten of Hearts, a Jupiter implementation of a Mars core, with a Jack of Clubs inside and a Five of Spades outside. Jane Fonda, Frank Zappa, Harpo Marx, Pablo Picasso, Wesley Snipes, Dinah Washington, J. K. Rowling, Charlie Parker, Ingrid Bergman, Michael Jackson, and Phil Donahue are various examples of expression of this Card.

Sept 26 2009

Moon in Capricorn will get the day off to a good start trine Venus exact at 6:01 am PDT, and then coasts for the rest of the day. The usual group of slower moving heavenly bodies are still with us, see prior posts for the juicy details. How was your day yesterday? With Pluto at the "beginning" of Capricorn there will be a hard Moon aspect approximately every week right after a potentially unsettling Moon Void of Course, ie conjunct Pluto (as yesterday), then square, then opposition, then square, then repeat for the next month. Particularly, if one has any planets towards the end of any constellation, say 25 degrees to 29 degrees, one may feel a strange, hard to describe "offness" (during the Void of Course) followed by classic Moon/Pluto sensations: small, insignificant/insecure, doubting, eruptive, emotional. Some weather conditions, eh? But that is how it looks, and it is hoped it will be better to know and be prepared rather than have a series of WTF experiences with no context in which to explore them. As said last month, it is up to us to find and/or create the coherence, the Light, the upper path.

The Birthcard today is the Jack of Hearts, a Venus expression of a Jupiter core, a source card with the same inside and outside, all JH all the time. Ivan Pavlov, Charles De Gaulle, Lisa Kudrow, Ahnold the Governator, Henry Ford, Olivia Newton John, David Sanborn, T.S. Elliot, Terry Gilliam, Uri Geller, Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis, George Gershwin, and rumor has it, Goethe, are various expressions of this Card.

Sept 25 2009 Moon First Quarter

How were your dreams last night as Moon swept sextile Chiron and Neptune? Moon finishes up in Sagittarius this morning, joining Pluto in T-squaring Saturn/Mercury and Uranus/Juno. Moon will be Void of Course from 10:04 am PDT till 3:19 pm PDT when she enters Capricorn. A high probability of strong, powerful, even overwhelming emotions today, not just as correlated with Moon/Pluto, but also the whole T-square of upheaval is being "Mooned" today. Lunchtime may have a distinct lack of mojo, skip the power lunch today and get take-out. Passion, liberation, repression, upheaval. Pay attention to the Goddess, usually good advice, but today in particular: what do Gaia, Sophia, Diana, Inanna have to say, and where might you listen to them?

The Birthcard today is the Queen of Hearts, a double Neptune with a Ten of Spades inside and a Nine of Clubs outside. Lyndon Johnson, Jennifer Beals, Goldie Hawn, Rene Magritte, Anita Roddick, Christopher Reeve, Edith Piaf, Barbara Walters, Johnny Carson, Will Smith, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and rumor has it, Voltaire, all share this Birthcard.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Sept 24 2009

Mixed mode today. Moon in Sagittarius will be inconjunct Mars as part of a YOD pattern emphasizing Mars in the afternoon. Then She will begin a sweep sextile of the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio extending into the wee hours of the night. Somewhere between motivated and lazy, likely a certain finesse in the way things happen today. Possibly a bit of ease, or relief from the Saturn/Uranus/Pluto (with Mercury and Juno added) T-square. Added harmony in the midst of the pressure of upheaval correlates with the north/south node axis sextile/trine the Saturn/Uranus axis. However, we are into the stiction days of Mercury Retrograde, so as hard as it may be, don't panic if things become topsy-turvy or when pressure builds to do what seems to be blocked from happening.

Today's Birthcard is the powerful King of Hearts, a Mars expression of a Mercury core, with a Two of Clubs inside, and a Nine of Spades outside. This is the Birthcard of Brad Pitt, Christina Aguilera, Joe Biden, Steven Spielberg, Betty Grable, Dick Smothers, Robert Byrd, Beatrix Potter, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Timothy Leary, Lee de Forest, Geraldine Ferraro, Jim Henson, Annette Funicello, Bobby Kennedy, Lena Horne, Stuart Wilde, Franz Liszt, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Linda Eastman McCartney, and rumor has it, Martin Luther.

Sept 23 2009

Moon in Sagittarius will be sextile The Sun exact at 5:55 am PDT and square Venus exact at 12:14 pm PDT. See the last few posts for the big picture of the slower moving heavenly bodies. Really, not exactly easy going, kick back, chill times. Some relief correlated with the Moon transits today, but fundamentally, upheaval is still the underlying theme. Not full Marvin, but these are challenging times indeed. There is opportunity within the chaos, and it is up to us to be the coherence, to awaken --- each at our level of ability or stage of growth. There may be a bit of emotional instability in the air today, but with a strong desire to know, starting with self.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Venus core, paired with the Two of Hearts. It is one of two pairs of Cards that trade places back and forth within each pair. Various incarnational expressions of this Card are Arthur Fiedler, Kenny Werner, Calvin Klein, Alfred Nobel, Jodie Foster, James Garfield, Sean Connery, Slim Pickens, Jack Welch, John Coltrane, Claudia Schiffer, Indira Gandhi, Ray Charles, Dick Cavett, Meg Ryan, and rumor has it Augustus Caesar. Ironically, the character played by Jodie Foster in the Movie "Contact", Ellie Harroway, had this same Birthcard (a different Birthday, but the same Birthcard). The Archetypes have their ways, it seems.

Sept 22 2009 Equinox

Happy Autumnal Equinox to those in the Northern Hemisphere; and Happy Spring Equinox to those in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy harvesting and springing where appropriate, and both if in the tropics. Moon in Scorpio will be sweeping square the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio, and sweeping sextile/trine the Saturn/Uranus axis (along with The Sun and Mercury next to Saturn; and Juno next to Uranus). Likely some lifting of the turmoil of the T-square of upheaval today, but with some fear to be faced. Better in tandem or partnership. Do find a spot in Nature to acknowledge and feel the elements and seasons; the exact balance of darkness and light today. The Moon will be Void of Course from either 8:32 pm PDT (traditionally) of from midnight PDT (WTAF) till 4 something am PDT overnight, and will be in Sagittarius tomorrow morning. Again, the WTAF interpretation takes into account Moon aspecting Juno whereas the traditional one does not; so see how you feel or sense thinhs later in the evening.

The Birthcard today is the Two of Clubs, a Uranus implementation of a Saturn core, with an Ace of Spades inside and a King of Hearts outside. Aldous Huxley, Arthur C. Clarke, Mel Brooks, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Gilda Radner, Ashley Montagu, Tom Petty, Sandra Bullock, Aldous Huxley, Carl Jung, Alan Sheppard, Bela Lugosi, Margaret Mead, Stanley Kubrick, Wynonna Judd, Benny Goodman, Jane Austen, Mick Jagger, and Segolene Royal all share this Birthcard.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Sept 21 2009

Moon in Scorpio will be square Vesta exact at 3:36 pm PDT today. Mars has moved into the orb of inconjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio, making a loose YOD pattern along with Saturn, Mercury (and The Sun for a short while longer) focusing on the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio. Turning points, decisions associated with grandiose idealism, illusions, delusions and/or childhood woundings may be in the works. This would be a good time to give up sniffing glue. Or drinking, or anything that numbs or distracts from old emotional pain. The relief of yesterday may have a bit of an unsure edge to it today, conversations along the themes of decisions, uncertainty; choice, faith are likely today.

The Birthcard today is the Three of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Mars core, with a Five of Diamonds inside and a King of Diamonds outside. Recognizable names of incarnations expressing through this Birthcard include Freeman Dyson, J. Paul Getty, Auguste Lumiere, Helen Keller, Rock Hudson, Bob Hope, John Adams, Howard Dean, JFK, Martin Scorsese, Gustav Holst, H. G. Wells, Bill Murray, and rumor has it, Nero.

Sept 20 2009

Mercury is halfway through retrograde this cycle, just passing The Sun in reverse. Moon finishing up in Libra will be square the north/south node axis today, sweeping trine the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio and sweeping inconjunct Uranus and Juno. Depending on which school of thought you are aligned with (see Sept 16 post), Moon goes Void of Course either traditionally from 11:44 am PDT till 9:52 pm PDT; or WTAF style from 7:15 pm PDT till 9:25 pm PDT. Again, see how it feels to you; does the mojo fade out in the afternoon or evening for you? Either way, Moon enters Scorpio at 9:25 pm PDT and does a nice mini grand trine, midpoint the the Venus/Pluto trine. Mixed messages today, possibly less restlessness and more solidity, yet with a paradoxical uncertainty than yesterday, which may or may not be a good thing. Stay flexible. But, the tension from the T-square of upheaval is likely easier on the senses, nothing like a few major Moon trines in that realm. And yet, we want to be sure, but we are not sure. Challenging, so be good to those close to you. They are mirrors of you in concert with the Archetypal Sky.

The Birthcard today is the Four of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Jupiter core, with a Five of Clubs inside and a Six of Hearts outside. Examples of this Birthcard include Spike Jones, Claude Debussy, Pearl Buck, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Pierre Trudeau, Amelia Earhart, Karl Gauss, Werner Von Braun, Sophia Loren, George C. Scott, Tori Amos, Ray Bradbury, Ian Flemming, John-David, Bella Abzug, Upton Sinclair, Thomas Moore, and rumor has it, Nostradamus.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Sept 19 2009

Moon in Libra will be sextile Vesta exact at 9:39 am PDT and square Mars exact at 8:45 pm PDT. In the midst of the challenging T-square of upheaval, there may be a bit of a good feeling about home earlier in the day, but there may also be good old fashioned annoyance later on. Restless, curious, inquisitive, struggling, opposing, uprooting, uncertain, restricting are all likely themes today. The Saturn/Sun/Mercury trio is still inconjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio. The good news is that the Saturn/Sun/Mercury opposite Uranus/Juno axis is now trine/sextile the north/south node axis, likely a salve of relief from any upsets of last week.

The Birthcard of the day is the Five of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Saturn core, with a Five of Hearts inside and a Four of Clubs outside. Hubert Humphrey, Rene Descartes, Rachel Carson, Andrew Carnegie, Cesar Chavez, George Orwell, Beverly D'Angelo, Rita Hayworth, Princess Margaret, Ziggy Marley, Twiggy, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Christopher Dodd, Herb Alpert, Petula Clark, Dick Van Dyke, Arthur Miller, Kim Cattrall, Evel Knievel, Wilt Chamberlain, Kenny Rogers, Al Gore, and rumor has it, Descartes, are incarnational examples of the 5C.

Sept 18 2009 New Moon

New Moon (exact at 11:44 am PDT) in Virgo, then Libra will be adding a kick to the Pluto T-square of upheaval today. She will sweep opposite Uranus and Juno; conjunct Saturn, The Sun, and Mercury going Moon Void of Course briefly from 4:56 pm PDT till 6:26 pm PDT when she enters Libra and is square Pluto shortly thereafter. Moon will be trine/sextile the north/south node axis. Somewhat like yesterday, although we are now past the exact Saturn/Uranus opposition, and past the exact Sun/Saturn conjunction; so likely a feeling of new beginnings, possibly picking up the pieces. Venus trine Pluto may well add the desire/fantasy of new beginnings; however during Retrograde, that is a pipe dream that is generally better left alone. Although it may be tempting to "force fit" rather than allow today, it would be good to take the higher, deeper path of intuition; rather than stick to the illusionary structure the familiar "law and order" or dogmatic mindset.

The Birthcard today is the Six of Clubs, a Neptune implementation of a Saturn core, with an Eight of Spades inside and a Two of Diamonds outside. Benjamon Harrison, James Monroe, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Yanni, Condoleezza Rice, Aaron Copeland, John Wayne, Rose Kennedy, Tim Robbins, Ann-Margret, Ambrose Bierce, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Jessica Alba, Lady Montagu, Ron Paul, Angela Lansbury, Greta Garbo, Hunter S. Thompson, Noah Webster, Norman Cousins, Warren Beatty, Frank Sinatra, and John Glenn are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Sept 17 2009

The Sun catches up with Saturn and is opposite Uranus, exact today, so likely more of the squeeze between Prometheus and Chronos, with the added upheaval of the Underworld (Pluto T-square). It may feel like the status quo has the upper hand as The Sun lights up Saturn/Chronos, but that will change as transits shift. The one and only Moon in Virgo will be sextile Mars exact at 4:21 pm PDT, so in spite of a possible feeling of the "melancholy genius" in the air, it should be a good day to get things done. Better for wrapping up loose ends rather than starting new projects, as Mercury is still in retrograde.

Today's Birthcard is the Seven of Clubs, a Saturn implementation of a Uranus core, with an Eight of Diamonds inside and a Jack of Spades outside. Bill Clinton, Ulysses Grant, John Tyler, Eugene McCarthy, Oscar Wilde, Whoopi Goldberg, Orville Wright, Igor Sikorsky, Keith O. Johnson, Alfred Kinsey, Louis Berlioz, Friedrich Nietzsche, Sam Walton, Samuel Morse, Fiorello La Guardia, Ernest Hemingway, Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Robert Louis Stevenson, Ogden Nash, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Anne Bancroft, and Robin Williams all share this Birthcard.

Sept 16 2009

Moon finishes up in Leo today, ending the sweep opposite the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio and conjunct Venus at 9:11 am PDT. Here is some fun, just for Retrograde: traditionally, Moon Void of Course starts right after the last major aspect/transit at the end of a constellation. The inconjunct, or quincunx is usually not taken into consideration, nor Juno. However, we do pay attention to them here. So, if you want to be traditional, Moon Goes Void of Course from 9:11 am PDT till4:56 pm PDT today. If you want to sense the WTAF, try something: see how things feel to you, as we would claim there is a brief Moon Void of Course from when Moon is inconjunct or quincunx Juno exact at 4:09 pm PDT till 4:56 pm PDT when Moon enters Virgo. See when you notice the usual lack of mojo during Moon Void. Mid morning, or just briefly late afternoon? Regardless, the T-square of upheaval is still with us, see prior posts. This morning could bring warm fuzzies, empathy, childhood memories in the form of feelings more than words. If you feel like you are hitting a wall about anything today, relax, it will pass.

The Birthcard today is the powerful Eight of Clubs, a Mars expression of a Neptune core, one of the three source cards that is the same inside as outside, WYSIWYG. Dwight Eisenhower, Larry Craig, Thomas Dolby, Priscilla Presley, Edmund Muskie, Carol Burnett, Edith Randall, Auguste Rodin, Edmund Hillary, Natalie Wood, Hank Paulson, Timothy Geithner, Austan Goolsbee, Simon Pierre Laplace, Eugène Delacroix, Lauren Bacall, Princess Grace, Roger Moore, John Audobon, Emily Dickenson, Bob Dylan, Gary Wright, Kris Kristofferson, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, and rumor has it, Maxim Gorky are various incarnations expressing through this Birthcard.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Sept 15 2009

Moon in Leo begins a sweep opposite the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio late in the evening, see how your dreams play out tonight. Grandiose ideas and ideals, childhood themes are a possibility. Saturn is/was exactly opposite Uranus this morning, from both the geocentric and heliocentric perspectives. While there may well be a sigh of relief amongst Astrologers, we really are still in the orb of Pluto T-square to the Saturn/Uranus opposition for the next year or so, with another geocentric opposition late spring of 2010. But this was the big one. Not out of the woods yet, just past the Rats of Unusual Size, or some such landmark. Except for the Moon, the transits are similar to yesterday and the day before, with a bit more of an artsy, sensual vibe likely in the air today.

The Birthcard today is the 9 of Clubs, a Venus expression of a Saturn core with a Queen of Hearts inside and a 6 of Diamonds outside. 9Cs include William Howard Taft, Ken Wilber whether he likes it or not, Tony Robbins, George McGovern, Gloria Swanson, George Patton, Redd Foxx, Joan Collins, Vikki Carr, Albert King, Samuel Goldwyn, Zane Grey, Edward Murrow, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Lindz Lawlor, Valerie Innes, Mae West, Artie Shaw, Jonathan Winters, Jane Russell, Kirk Douglas, Kurt Vonnegut, Al Pacino, Quentin Tarantino, Guglielmo Marconi, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Jean-Paul Sartre.

Sept 14 2009 Moon Void of Course

After sweeping inconjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio and being sextile The Sun overnight, the Moon finishes up in Cancer greeting the crack of Dawn sextile Saturn, and trine Uranus, then going Void of Course from 6:57 am PDT till 3:37 pm PDT. Moon will be close to the south node for the first part of the day, opposite Lilith Moon. Quite likely a case of the Mondays on Monday this week. At 3:37 pm PDT Moon enters Leo trine Juno and inconjunct Pluto, and will be sextile Mercury exact at 8:22 pm PDT. Likely a distinct lack of mojo for most of the day, somewhat similar to yesterday, but less annoyed, more intellectual. The final pass of Prometheus/Chronos, also known as Saturn opposite Uranus is over the next couple days, also exact from the Heliocentric perspective this time. With The Sun and Mercury joining Saturn, Juno joining Uranus, and Pluto T-square --- things are likely to be tense, although a bit mellower than yesterday. Likely a strong desire to know WTF today, but with not much footing to go on; improving in the evening with better footing and communication. Be aware of being too self assured today, in contrast to yesterday's personalization of annoyance/stress.

The Birthcard today is the 10 of Clubs, a Solar expression of a Mars core and some flexibility to experience a Venus or Mercury core with a Jack of Spades inside and a 4 of Spades outside. 10Cs include Franklin D. Roosevelt, Robert Frost, Phil Collins, Jack Abramoff, Paul Krugman, John Glenn, Linus Pauling, Steven Chu, Diego Rivera, Nelson Mandela, Dick Gregory, Ivan Pavlov, Leonard Nimoy, Flip Wilson, Eydie Gorme, Sammy Davis Jr. , Richard Dawkins, Red Skelton, Zero Mostel, Erica Jong, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Joseph Campbell, Shirley MacLaine, Dick Cheney as a representative of the dark side of the force, and rumor has it, Martin Luther.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Sept 13 2009

Moon in Cancer will be conjunct Mars exact at 9:10 am PDT. Now that Mars has moved to the edge of the orb of the once grand cross of changes, we will likely feel a bit of annoyance from this transit as a distinct, possibly more personal feeling along with the upheaval from the Pluto T-square remaining (see prior posts). Mercury in retrograde and The Sun are closing in on Saturn as Uranus accompanied by Juno is close to exact opposite Saturn. Pressure, upheaval, intensity, confusion, mixed messages as the KKKarnival on the news will attest. Saturn is inconjunct and Venus is opposite the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio --- uncertainty seeking comfort. Today, the trickster genius with a mistrust of the system or any system may make an appearance. One does not need to be a soothsayer to notice that these are intense times; the transits do correlate blatantly with the experience, it would seem.

The Birthcard today is the Jack of Clubs, a Uranus expression of a Venus core, with a Jack of Diamonds inside and a 10 of Hearts outside. JCs include James Buchanan, William McKinley, Thomas Paine, Rahm Emanuel, Julia Child, Spiro Agnew, Walter Reed, Art Linkletter, Ralph Nader, John Steinbeck, Napoleon Bonaparte, Oprah, Susie Bright, Gloria Steinem, Eleanor Roosevelt, Max Planck, Rudolph Steiner, Sergei Prokofieff, Raymond Burr, Lou Gerhig, Howard Cosell, Jim Fixx, Phyllis Diller, Fats Waller, Guy Lombardo, Mel Torme, Aretha Franklin, Shirley Temple, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Paula Abdul, whether they know it or not.

Sept 12 2009

A lazy or possibly dragging, slogging Saturday morning as Moon starts off Void of Course. There may be consternation over something along the lines of "...man, I just can't party like I used to without paying the price...", and if one stays awake through lunch, things will pick up at 1:20 pm PDT when Moon enters her home, Cancer. However, Moon will be giving a nudge to the T-square of upheaval (see prior posts) square Juno exact at 2:07 pm PDT, opposite Pluto exact at 2:27 pm PDT and square Mercury exact at 8:41 pm PDT. Amidst the potential of a bit of emotional turmoil today, the stage is set for intuitive knowledge and wisdom. What do you perceive as the distinction between lonely and alone? Is what we are not receiving from those close to us possibly also what we need to give, share, express to them? It is in giving that we often receive the most meaningful gifts.

The Birthcard today is the Queen of Clubs, a Mercury expression of a Mars core, with a 3 of Hearts inside and a 10 of Diamonds outside. QCs include Michael Bolton, Ira Gershwin, Andrew Mellon, Robert Novak, Nikolai Lenin, H. L. Mencken, Immanual Kant, Arthur Laffer, Jack Nicholson, Jesse Owens, Will Ferrell, Ginger Rogers, Dave Brubeck, James Stewart, Aaron Spelling, Cher, Nicolas Sarkozy, Charles Mingus, Jonhhy Cash, Jackie Gleason, Alan Alda, Paul McCartney, and rumor has it, Socrates.

Sept 11 2009 Moon Last Quarter

Moon Gemini will be sextile Venus, sweep trine the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio, and square The Sun later in the day, starting around dinnertime PDT. Later, in the middle of the night, she will square Saturn and Uranus before going Void of Course for tomorrow (Sept 12) morning. Likely a bit of a paradox, nice and easy, good feelings with an edge of go juice. Somewhat restless dreams. Expect surprises, innovation. Pluto goes direct today, you may notice a certain tension lifting, one that has been with us for so long that it was not really noticed as such till it stopped.

The Birthcard today is the King of Clubs, a double Uranus with a 2 of Spades inside and an 8 of Spades outside. KCs include Keith Olbermann, Martin Van Buren, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Leon Trotsky, John Lennon, George Harrison, Marie Curie, Chaka Khan, John Muir, Erich Fromm, Pierre Simon Laplace, Hedy Lamarr, Ric Ocasek, Walt Disney, Barry Manilow, Arianna Huffington, Enrico Caruso, Alfred Hitchcock, Queen Elizabeth the Second, Gary Stadler, Igor Stravinsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jesse Ventura, General Custer, Billy Graham, James "J Bob Dobbs" Dobson, and rumor has it, Rembrandt.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Sept 10 2009

The Sun is well within the orb of Saturn, both inconjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio. Uncertainty would be a theme added to upheaval. Moon starts off the day Void of Course, then enters Gemini at 9:17 am PDT. A case of the Mondays on Thursday, but only for the early morning. Moon will be trine/sextile the north/south node axis today, adding a good sense of grounding/place/agility to whatever else is happening, including Moon inconjunct Pluto which could be a bit off-putting. Back on the upside, Moon with Vesta will be making a half star of David with the Sun/Saturn/Mercury oposite Uranus/Juno axis. Moon will be sextile Juno exact at 10:56 am PDT, trine Mercury exact at 6: 50 pm PDT sextile Vesta exact at 7:07 am PDT. Ego may be off kilter, but feelings may be surprisingly ok --- a sense of self, self value, may be in the limelight today. Just remember one cannot buy one's way to self with shiny things, no matter how much fun it may seem at the time.

A repeat of some long term better news beyond the next year or so of upheaval associated with the Pluto/Saturn/Uranus T-square: after that we are into a similar set of transits to the Renaissance with an added twist. Beyond minstrels with funny clothes and an excuse to be bawdy there is a truly rare opportunity for the group or social consciousness to take the proverbial quantum leap. Hopefully not off a cliff, but spiritual awakening to borrow a cliche; or an expansion of awareness of the obvious that was previously occulted or ignored, or just not on the radar. By 2013, Saturn will be passing away from square Pluto and opposite Uranus, leaving Pluto square Uranus and sextile Neptune along with a passing Jupiter/Saturn/Uranus grand trine---the Renaissance transits. Pluto sextile Neptune correlates with deep, spiritual awakenings, Pluto square Uranus correlates with deep shift, innovation. The twist is that this time Chiron is close to Neptune, actually leading the way sextile Pluto. This would imply that lessons from woundings, traumas have a chance to be actually learned, integrated and even transcended. By 2014, Saturn will be inconjunct Uranus, but sextile Pluto, and trine Chiron, implying the possibility of the old "powers that be" having nothing to grip on to, while the upheaval/change/shift that has been brewing will have footing/grounding. After that, more stuff happens of course. By 2016, with Pluto still sextile Neptune, Saturn will be square Neptune, with a passing Jupiter opposite Neptune and Square Saturn, which would imply more taboos being revealed for what they are; a possibility of group empowerment through direct spiritual experiences. If we can hold it together, not a festering crooked broken system in the form of business as usual; but that which is truly of value in a higher expression of being Human: life, love, community, family---coherence and connections with constructive creative expression---then we are in for a good time, messy as it may seem when going through the birthing process into the seemingly unknown.

The Birthcard today is the Ace of Diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Neptune core, with a 2 of Diamonds inside and an Ace of Hearts outside. ADs include Marcel Marceau, George Soros, Angela Davis, Ray Conniff, Alice A. Bailey, Helena Blavatsky, Paul Hogan, Lionel Hampton, Cecil B. DeMille, Sigourney Weaver, Paul Newman, Ellen DeGeneres, Arnold Palmer, Steve Jobs, Maria Shriver, John Phillip Sousa, William Shatner, Ingmar Bergman, Bertrand Russell, Eddie Rickenbacker, Karl Malden, Chevy Chase, Dennis Kucinich, Francisco Franco, Juan Peron, Gerald R. Sept 9 2009 aka 09-09-09

Sun and Mercury are both closing in on Saturn, setting the stage for quite a week next week, if it is not already quite a week this week. Venus is well within the orb of opposite Jupiter, and for all intents and purposes, is actually sweeping opposite the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio. But the likely flavor will start quite nice, as Venus/Jupiter transits are among the most pleasant. So, in the midst of the rather heavy grand cross of changes (see prior posts), soon to be the T-square of upheaval, there are opportunities to anchor, to remember that sharing, expressing coherence and love are the highest expressions. Today, Moon in Taurus will be square Venus early on, and sweeping square the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio through the whole day. She will also be trine The Sun and Saturn. Likely takes center stage attention away from the heavier stuff of the grand cross. Besides, who could resist adding some kind of significance to the only 090909 in our lifetimes? Although there may be a bit of a relentless drive in the air today, it also is a drive to connect and share.

The Birthcard for today is the 2 of Diamonds, a Mars expression of a Saturn core with a 6 of Clubs inside and an Ace of Diamonds outside. 2Ds include Vandana Shiva, Corazon Aquino, Viktor Yushchenko, Jose Silva, Benjamin Disraeli, Anna Freud, Modest Mussorgsky, Rosie O'Donnell, Art Garfunkel, Harrison Ford, Peter Fonda, Jayne Mansfield, Mike Douglas, Dudley Moore, Taj Mahal, Johannes Gutenberg, Jean Fourier, Leo Tolstoy, Neils Bohr, Ole Evinrude, Trent Reznor, Andy Williams, and Howard Jones.

Sept 8 2009

Any dreams of depth and meaning? Moon in Taurus was trine Pluto overnight, will be square Vesta exact at 11:46 am PDT, and sextile Mars exact at 7:38 pm PDT. Also inconjunct Mercury along the way. Likely an uncertainty in the air today, with motivation to "do something".

Today being a good day for philosophy, it is worth repeating that
one reason Astrology and other deterministic Archetypal Languages "work", or to put it another way, the experiences of psyche correlate with what is largely unseen, is because the critical mass of humanity is still unconscious, following the dynamics of the Cosmos (physically and non-physically) much as collections of unconscious (relatively speaking) particles follow the laws of mechanics or Physics, PV equals nRT. We get to wake up. Imagine a world with a critical mass of awakened humanity!

The Birthcard today is the 3 of Diamonds, a Mercury expression of a Uranus core, with a 6 of Hearts inside and a Queen of Diamonds outside. 3Ds include George Washington, Herbert Hoover, John Belushi, Sid Caesar, Milton Berle, Peter Sellers, Carl Reiner, Henry Fonda, Cheryl Ladd, Neil Diamond, Liberace, Andrew Wyeth, Oral (!) Roberts, Christine McVie, Bill Cosby, Drew Barrymore, Olney Richmond, Henry Thoreau, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Richard Simmons, Buckminster Fuller, George Westinghouse, Randolph Hearst, Walter Cronkite, Thor Heyerdahl, Paul Watson, Edward Kennedy, Fred Rogers, Rick Moranis, Pierce Bronsan, and rumor has it, King Richard and Julius Caesar.

Sept 7 2009

Moon in Aries sweeps sextile the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio, starting early, and ending at 5:13 pm PDT when she goes Moon Void of Course till the wee hours of the night. Moon also becomes inconjunct Saturn, making a YOD of Finger of God formation with the trio which is also still inconjunct Saturn. This points to a possibility of a turning point in the realms of responsibility or learning, with uncertainty nudging it; and yet a paradoxical stable, feet on the ground, "put it in low gear and push it through" kind of foundation. Mercury has begun it's retrograde sweep back across the Saturn/Uranus axis of the grand cross of changes. As Mars moves out of the orb, the configuration will become a T-square. In some ways, less relentless and less balanced---putting more emphasis on Pluto---hence the meme of "upheaval". See the Aug 31 post on the long term scheme of that theme.

The Birthcard today is the 4 of Diamonds, a Neptune expression of a Venus core, with a 5 of Spades inside and a 5 of Hearts outside. 4D incarnations include Antonio Villaraigosa, John Hancock, Chester Arthur, John Quincy Adams, Jake Steinfeld, David Geffen, Pierre Currie, Nikita Khrushchev, Connie Stevens, Richard Tarnas, Ornette Coleman, J. P. Morgan Jr. , Vincenzo Bellini, Brian Eno, Woody Allen, Charles Bronson, John Wanamaker, Ursula Andress, Sybil Leek, William Butler Yeats, James Clerk Maxwell, and rumor has it, Avogadro.

Sept 6 2009 Opposite Day, or not

Moon in Aries continues to light up the grand or not so grand cross of changes (see prior posts), opposite Mercury exact at 7:00 am PDT, square Mars exact at 9:25 am PDT, then trine Venus exact at 9:14 pm PDT. A chance of restlessness in the air today. The Moon/Venus trine is a most wonderful transit, and may well provide a breather to any challenges experienced. Particularly during times of upheval, what we focus upon is of prime importance. Feet on the ground, but not too rigidly. Head in the Stars, but not too spacey.

Today is the first official day of Mercury Retrograde. If communication is missed, misunderstood or combative, desires are thwarted or blocked, you feel stuck or bottled, interpretations are taken in the worst possible way, that's retrograde---the shadow or trickster side of Hermes. It could be opposite day, but it might not be. If you ask if it is opposite day during opposite day, what answer do you get? Retrograde is Sept 6 thru Sept 29, however there is more to it. Think of overlapping waves, and think of a slowly swinging pendulum. At the upper end of each swing it slows down before reversing direction. Likewise, the relative motion between Earth and Mercury passes through phases of forward, stiction, reverse, stiction, repeat. The stiction phases overlapping with the "actual" retrograde are in some ways less fun and more troubling than the "pure" retrograde. Relationships are prone to questioning and upsets during the stiction phase, those with a deep or solid connection will survive. An Archetypal explanation as to why bouncebacks usually don't last is that they start during retrograde right after a stiction induced breakup.

T
he Birthcard today is the 5 of Diamonds, a Saturn implementation of a Neptune core, with a 9 of Diamonds inside and a 3 of Clubs outside. 5D incarnations include
Neil Bush, GHW Bush, Joseph Kennedy, Sam Cooke, Pancho Villa, John Calvin, Wilbur Wright, James Polk, Warren Harding, Grover Cleveland, Rutherford B. Hayes, Andy Warhol, Charlton Heston, Nikola Tesla, Bobby Darin, Daniel Boone, Patty Hearst, Ivana Trump, Buster Keaton, Charles Chaplin, Burt Lancaster, Peter Graves, Dusty Springfield, Sidney Poitier, Dustin Hoffman, David Brinkley, Edgar Cayce, Henry Mancini, Herbie Mann, Marie Antoinette, and rumor has it, Saint Francis of Assisi.

Sept 5 2009 Moon Void of Course

Moon finishes up in Pisces this morning opposite Saturn exact at 6:46 am PDT and conjunct Uranus exact at 9:53 am PDT when she goes Moon Void of Course till 7:14 pm PDT. Then she enters Aries, square Pluto exact at 8:30 pm PDT and conjunct Juno exact at 10:45 pm PDT. Responsibility, with or without a paradoxical tendency of lithe, gregarious expression of responsibility in values today is still responsibility. Love it or hate it. Essentially, Moon gives a kick to the whole grand or not so grand cross (see prior posts) today. Starts off with a potential for struggle, activism, then goes blah for most of the day. Then ends up possibly annoyed at mis-communication. Really a good day to just chill, particularly with tomorrow being the first official day of Mercury Retrograde. As hard, or tricky as it may be, try not to take anything personally today, let it be if possible. Go see an Arthouse Flick. Be aware of the blame game, try not to play it. Not advisable to make any life changing decisions today, particularly the type of decision based on emotions that one may regret a month from now. The cheery news is that if we stay with our feet lithely on the ground through challenges, good things do happen.

The Birthcard today is the 6 of Diamonds, a Jupiter expression of a Mercury core, with a 9 of Clubs inside and a 3 of Spades outside. 6Ds include Geena Davis, Paul Allen, Christian Dior, Richard Strauss, Carrie Prejean, Courtney Love, Seal, Arthur Koestler, Emma Watson, Gore Vidal, Rudolf Nureyev, Nat King Cole, Cindy Crawford, Bob Newhart, Mata Hari, Stevie Wonder, Werner Erhard, Jeanette Rankin, Tom Hanks, Thomas Wolfe, Raquel Welch, Freddie Mercury, and rumor has it Copernicus.

Sept 4 2009 Full Moon

Moon in Pisces is Full exactly at 9:03 am PDT. Need we say more about the Full Moon? Also inconjunct Venus early on, then taking a breather for the rest of the day. However, there is plenty going on, possibly a bit of a surreal vibe in the air, a mixture of profound and profane in the realm of values. The grand or not so grand cross is shifting around, with all the players still within the orb: one one axis we have Mars opposite Pluto for the next week or so. And square that we have a pair of pairs: a tightening Saturn/Uranus opposition and Mercury opposite Juno. Couple that with Saturn inconjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio and we would have a mixed message recipe for anything goes, if things were not so squidgy. If things seem wierd or even weird, it's not just you. Hang tight loosely.

Upcoming 09-09-09 has the potential to be intense, with Saturn/Uranus exact opposite, and the rest of the characters still in the orb of being the grand square; with the added bonus of The Sun entering the orb of conjunct Saturn. All during retrograde.

The Birthcard of the day is the 7 of Diamonds, a double Venus with a "veiled" double Saturn inside and outside. 7D incarnations include George Carlin, John D. Rockefeller, Yogi Berra, Nelson A. Rockefeller, Matt Dillon, Yoko Ono, Beyonce, Mohandas Gandhi, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Charles Schwab, Federico Fellini, Graucho Marx, Megan Fox, Pat Nixon, Lucille Ball, Farley Mowat, Henny Youngman, Jerry Lewis, Julie Christie, Paul Begala, Judy Garland, F. Lee Bailey, James Madison, Rex Reed, George Burns, and Rumor has it, Paganini.

Sept 3 2009

On the second day of retrograde, my true love brought to me...Moon Void of Course this morning till 8:58 am PDT when she enters Pisces, her Home away from Home. There may be an urge to sleep in a bit longer, more so than usual. Moon will be adding a harmonious nudge to part of the grand cross, the Pluto/Mars opposition part, sextile Pluto exact at 10:18 am PDT and trine Mars exact at 8:39 pm PDT. Moon will also be inconjunct Vesta in the Morning, indicating a possible frustration to a powerful, assertive, almost aggressive vibe that may be in the air today. Heading for the Full Moon tomorrow morning, this would be a good evening to howl at the Moon, at least somewhere semi private.

The Birthcard today is the 8 of Diamonds, a crown card with a Jupiter core, with a Queen of Spades inside and a 7 of Clubs outside. 8Ds include Salvador Dali, Jimmy Carter, Neil Armstrong, Marc Chagall, Vladimir Horowitz, Paris Hilton, Arne Lein, Edgar Allan Poe, Dolly Parton, Fabio Lanzoni, Al Green, Sly Stone, Julie Andrews, Ringo Starr, Thomas Jefferson, Janis Joplin, Robert Heinlein, James Brown, Gustav Mahler, Cole Porter, Walter Matthau, Martha Quinn, Jim Jeffords, and Andrew Jackson, and rumor has it Peter the Great.

Sept 2 2009 Mercury watch

Moon in Aquarius sweeps conjunct the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune trio between noon and 10:20 pm PDT when she goes Moon Void of Course till tomorrow morning. Also of note, besides the usual cast of characters such as the grand cross, Saturn is inconjunct the trio ( and the Moon today). And Pluto is inconjunct Venus/Vesta. Both of these point to some uncertainty, "dunno what it is", give and take without resolution. Today, values may be of importance, possibly a give and take along the lines of disappointment versus universality. What are your ideals?

On the first day of retrograde, my true love gave to me...today is the first of the Mercury Retrograde stiction days, when the relative motion of Mercury is slow prior to reversing. The official retrograde is Sept 6 thru Sept 29, however there is more to it. Think of overlapping waves, and think of a slowly swinging pendulum. At the upper end of each swing it slows down before reversing direction. Likewise, the relative motion between Earth and Mercury passes through phases of forward, stiction, reverse, stiction, repeat. Relationships are prone to questioning and upsets during the stiction phase, those with a deep or solid connection will survive. An Archetypal explanation as to why bouncebacks usually don't last is that they start during retrograde right after a stiction induced breakup.

The Birthcard today is the 9 of Diamonds, a Uranus implementation of a Mars core, with a Queen of Diamonds inside and a 5 of Diamonds outside. 9Ds include Barack Obama, David Letterman, Albert Einstein, John Paul Jones, Merv Griffin, Nancy Davis Reagan, Fred Astaire, Ray Dolby, Cleveland Amory, Tom Clancy, Janet Leigh, Frank Lloyd Wright, Cary Grant, Frida Kahlo, Salma Hayek, Oliver Hardy, Muhammad Ali, Sylvester Stallone, Dubya, Francis Crick, and both Bono and Sonny Bono.

Sept 1 2009

How were your dreams? In the midst of the grand cross of stressful changes, Moon lit up the now trine of Vesta and Juno overnight. Home, hearth, our ancestors, long term connections perceived anywhere in the aethers? Moon in Aquarius is giving the Arts a boost today, trine Mercury exact at 6:22 am PDT and opposite Venus exact at 11:28 am PDT. There may be a touch of grandiosity today, great for ideas and ideals, but not so good for lunch.

The Birthcard of today is the 10 of Diamonds, a double Jupiter, with a Queen of Clubs inside and a Queen of Spades outside. 10Ds include The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, P. T. Barnum, Martha Stewart, Gloria Estefan, Phil McGraw, Zooey Deschanel, Andy Kaufman, Jessica Tandy, Paul Gaugin, Lily Tomlin, Tony Bennett, Candice Bergen, Tom Jones, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, Jim Carrey, Percival Lowell, Douglas Hofstadter, and Sammy Kaye, and rumor has it, Galileo.
